We are in town from houston. We have a 3 year old son so I thought this would be a fun way to spend some time. Everything was either over his head or not entertaining . Definitely not for children under 5-6. It was also very expensive for three adults. I wouldn’t go back.

This museum was kind of a let down for us. We love science and the idea of a quick trip to this museum sounded great for our day in Charlotte but other than the animals it was kind of a dud. The above and beyond exhibit felt like something you would get at a carnival. It just felt cheap. I will say this there is a lot of activities for kids so if you plan on bringing the family this is the spot for you but if you love science and want a quick lesson maybe try something else. Not bad, just alright.

It was ok I feel like it would be more enjoyable if it wasn’t all these school trips at the same time. Made it chaotic. I wish it was day to separate school group and regular museum days. The school groups kind of took over. All and all it was cool. Hopefully next time I come it will be less schools

I have been to the museum and the imax theater. The museum is decent for a small production. I don’t have children so I would look for reviews about that. The imax experience was terrible. It’s a small theater, and if you are sitting below the top most three rows prepare to look up. The video quality was also very fuzzy. We saw Project Hail Marry - so it’s not a true imax film. While a globed imax theater isn’t bad for star gazing or short experiences, cranking your neck up for 2.5 hours wasn’t great.

Yes staff is very polite. Whoever is actually in charge needs a wake up call. I would not recommend school groups. First circle around town awhile awaiting bus drop-off space opening up. They can let you in the "back" door, but it will set off building alarms if they let you out that same back door? The staff was nice enough to cart our lunches to the 3rd floor, but neglected to let us know they may not bring it back down to the front door for you to push it back around the sidewalk to the back door. After waiting 30 minutes while carts were being brought down, we finally went up and found ours just sitting there.Originally told by the nice staff that we had to leave the cart inside and carry all our coolers and lunch bags around the building. The 2 of us left could not carry it all without the cart, so we took the cart won't front like half the groups I saw did. The nice staff told us to leave the carts, but also too nice to stop anyone. We were trapped in the small lunch room because the nice staff just watched the next group come in and pass out their lunches. Totally blocking the only exit that won't set an alarm. Now the whole school is waiting to dismiss because we are 45 minutes late. The excuse is the construction around messed up their system. There is nothing we can do. When construction began I assume there was a meeting called to figure out how to accommodate school group customers.
