The Spellman Museum is a private, secular non-profit educational institution located on the Regis College campus. It features exhibit galleries, a philatelic library, activities rooms, and a retail store stocked with stamps, collecting supplies, books, and souvenirs. Known for its dynamic exhibits and programs that bring history, current affairs, pioneers, and exotic places to life through stamps, the Spellman is one of only two philatelic museums in the United States. The other one is the Smithsonian Institution’s National Postal Museum in Washington, DC. The staff are knowledgeable and really care about the hobby, and are a wealth of knowledge. The shop on site is also a great place to build a collection, and they are fairly priced. They have exhibits for every age group and I had a great time. Thank you again for a great visit this week, I look forward to coming back!

- DBDavid BlusteinSep 8, 20135.0Collection is not just stamps, but the way stamps tell a story. I learned that a lot of stamps can be considered affordable miniature art. The Spellman has quizzes where the answers are on the stamps. There are also displays that reflect what is going on in the world today. Had lots of fun with the treasure hunts and with correct answers was rewarded with a nice stamp trophy of my visit. You have to be able to appreciate the smaller things of life without the over stimuli that other museums try to offer.
