Founded in 1985, Northwest Ballet Academy Ltd. provides quality ballet training for children, teens and adults in Schaumburg and throughout the northwestern suburbs of Chicago. Along with ballet, we offer jazz, modern, character and Yoga for Dancers training.
We have a passion for all genres of dance, but it is our belief that ballet is the foundation of several other forms. That is why we teach proper ballet technique, coupled with a disciplined approach that includes personal correction and instruction in ballet vocabulary, history and variations from the classical repertoire.
We are proud to have been named "2018 Best of the Best" by the Daily Herald and voted Best Dance School in Schaumburg in 2022 and 2023!

- BKboston kAug 27, 20255.0NWBA is THE place to go for adult ballet in the Chicago suburbs. I have tried several studios and none even come close to the rigor that NWBA offers. If you start as a true adult beginner, expect to be in the adult beginner class for the unforeseen future, because you are expected to build your foundation like a true ballet student should. But if you truly are more advanced, they offer several adult classes at higher levels, too. This not only creates class environments where dancers are more or less on the same level, but also provides inspiration and room to grow. Lots of corrections from extremely skilled and personable instructors. I drive far to come here- it is worth it. The prices are comparable if not cheaper to other studios offering adult dance, too!

Lori Baduria, the owner, is an incredibly professional, hard-working, and kind person who is passionate about dance. She has created a friendly, warm, and open environment for dancers of all levels, abilities, backgrounds, ages, and body types. After a 25 year break from ballet, I started at Northwest Ballet Academy a year ago and have found a truly unique and special family of kind, supportive, & friendly adult dancers and teachers. The spring recital blew my entire family away and it convinced my five year old son to start ballet this summer. He took class with Lori as a complete beginner to ballet and he loves it. He is already signed up for the fall and is asking me when classes start. Thank you Northwest Ballet Academy and Lori! We are so lucky to have you!

The level of ballet and other dance instruction, amazing teachers, highly professional dance recitals, not to mention the famous Nutcracker - NWBA offers all these experiences, unparalleled for a suburban dance studio. Ballet, Pointe, Character, Modern, Jazz classes are offered for kids and adults, as well as a separate Cecchetti ballet curriculum, not seen in many other studios. The dance studio is family owned, the new owner Lori is a kind, thoughtful, professional leader and mentor to the kids. Our entire family has been participating in the recitals as well, from volunteering to being on stage. NWBA is a big part of our lives, and we highly recommend it.
