Went to see Avatar: Fire and Ash at 11am. After the previews and commercials, movie finally started at 1146am. That’s too long. I paid money to watch a movie, not to give 45 minutes of my time to the theater for commercials. My time isn’t for free and to have customers sit through this at the expense of our time is immoral. Theaters are shooting themselves in the foot with practices such as this and wondering why customers won’t return. I no longer have the desire to see a movie in a theater if the theater is going to steal 45-50 minutes of my time for their own profit. If you’re going to steal my time for your profit, I need to be on the payroll. My time isn’t for free.

Really unfortunate experience since I've heard such good things about this theater. We asked for a cup of water and were told they were out of "free cups", there was a loud fan that could be heard during the entire movie, the projector had awful color grading that made the movie look oddly dull, dim, and green (this affected the previews as well so I'm certain it wasn't the movie's decision), and they kept the overhead light on during the screening which further affected the brightness of the projected movie, and was always glaring in my eyes. It's like a deliberate exercise in making the viewing process as uncomfortable and ugly as possible. There are so many better theaters in the area, why would you go here?

Reclining chairs are awesome. Marcus is our new go-to theater. We live in (rural) Edwardsville. Showplace 12 is 15 minutes away. Marcus is 30 minutes. We’d much rather drive the 15 more minutes for a better theater experience. P.S. The Housemaid is a great movie. Obviously set up for a sequel, but great nonetheless.

Great Movie Experience, Disappointing Follow-Up Communication Our Children’s Church recently hosted a Jammies & Jesus group event at Marcus Theatres to see the movie David, and the movie experience itself was wonderful. The film was engaging, age-appropriate, and meaningful for our children, making it a great choice for a faith-based family event. The kids truly enjoyed the experience, and the theatre environment was comfortable and enjoyable for our group. Unfortunately, the positive experience with the movie was overshadowed by issues with post-event communication. After the screening, the lead of our team, who were physically present at the theatre spoke directly with on-site Marcus Theatres employees, who advised that vouchers could be issued for attendees who were unable to attend and even provided a phone number to follow up. Based on that information, I contacted Sammi (Samantha) Mordawski, Regional Account Manager with Marcus Theatres Events, the following business day. I was told that no one recalled sharing this information and that vouchers were not an option. Rather than acknowledging a possible miscommunication from on-site staff, the response implied that the information provided to me was incorrect or fabricated, which was disappointing and unnecessary. While we truly appreciated the quality of the movie David and the joy it brought to our children during our Jammies & Jesus event, the lack of accountability and professionalism in the follow-up communication has caused us to reconsider future group bookings with Marcus Theatres. I hope this feedback helps improve internal communication and ensures future group event customers receive clear, consistent, and respectful service.

Guy up front in box office with the blonde hair and glasses is the worst. So much attitude for someone who is simply there to print a ticket out. Sorry you have to work on a Saturday night buddy but don’t take it out on random folks.
