- HMHaley MatterSep 8, 20255.0We had our wedding at Curate in early August 2025, and we truly could not recommend it enough as a wedding venue. From start to finish, everything was seamless and beautiful. Our wedding had 270 people and they could have accommodated 300 with a dance floor. Chris and Jayme were incredibly responsive and attentive to all our needs throughout the planning process and on the big day. Their professionalism and warmth made everything feel easy even during a linen hic-cup the week prior to wedding that was quickly resolved. The loft was the perfect space for us ladies to get ready—spacious, well-lit, and ideal for those special pre-ceremony moments. The photos we took there turned out absolutely stunning! We used the Studio Room for cocktail hour, which created a lovely, intimate vibe for guests to mingle before transitioning into the Gallery Room for the reception. Our guests loved the drink wall that Curate provided for our His and Hers drink. The flow between spaces was perfect and made the evening feel effortless. Even our vendors commented on how wonderful Curate is to work with—organized, accommodating, and just genuinely kind people. And the food with Taste-to-go? Absolutely amazing. Many of our guests asked who the caterer was. We went with a Dual plate with chicken and beef and late night pizza as well. If you're looking for a venue that’s beautiful, well-run, and full of heart, Curate is it. Huge thanks to the entire team for making our day unforgettable.

At first he was diligent on his responses and setting up a venue tour. After meeting with him, and seeing all that Curate has to offer, my fiancé and I were sure this would be the perfect spot for our Fall 2020 wedding! Unfortunately I have still not heard back from Chris after a couple months of following up with him. Here’s a potential client wanting to secure a date and provide a deposit with a company that seems to pick and choose who they want to service. I’m assuming the date I was interested in was prioritized to service a political event. Thankfully Des Moines has many options with outstanding customers service! Highly recommend not wasting your time with this event space.

How do I park at Curate
Curate offers multiple parking options for your convenience. Our clients can use the Curate parking lot, as well as the lot directly north of us after 5 PM on weekdays and all weekend. Several nearby parking ramps are available, including the City of Des Moines garage at 402 E. 2nd Street and others on E. 6th Street, Des Moines Street, and E. Fourth Street. We've also partnered with downtown hotels offering free shuttle services and can arrange valet parking through Keck Parking. Our venue features two distinct spaces: The Gallery Room and The Studio Room. The Gallery Room, opened in 2017, offers 6,000 square feet of event space and a 450 square foot wedding party suite. It's recently been updated with a textured marble tile wall, fresh paint, and additional brass chandeliers. The Studio Room, opening in 2024, is a 2,000 square foot space with unique features like a marble feature wall, photo nook, and glass garage doors leading to a wrap-around patio. Both rooms offer high-quality amenities including white cocktail tables, art gallery pedestals, round tables, and silver Chiavari chairs. We provide setup and teardown services, A/V equipment, and can accommodate various event types with our catering and bar services.
