One of the most significant venues in the Richmond area. Some amazingly enjoyable performances have been had here, especially the Christmas shows when we go with the primary school and the children get invited on stage. It's always hilarious, and you can see some big names from the TV in performances.

The architecture is stunning outside, however,I wish it was just generally open to look at inside. From previous images posted it looks beautiful inside.Designed by Frank Matcham,(and officially opened on September 18th 1899 )who also designed the Blackpool Ballroom,a theatre has been here since at least the early 18th century.
Absolutely fantastic place! My family and I attended Polunin's Christmas show, the pure magic, enhanced by the theatre's atmosphere and the great job of the staff. Highly recommended.

It was our first time visiting Richmond theatre. It’s gorgeous inside, particularly the beautiful plasterwork. We sat in the upper circle. The view and audio were fine up there. However, the seating was hell!! No leg room. The foam cushioning on the seat was paper thin, so my arse went numb. The seat had a slight tilt forward. The backrest had a ridge halfway down it, which was massively uncomfortable. The armrests were awful, lacked padding and made your elbows sore. Two hours in this chair was like torture, and I left with serious back ache. Much as we loved the gig, and the beautiful surroundings, we will not be going back to Richmond Theatre due to the lack of comfort. Shame

What a lovely place! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the show was absolutely amazing, and the bar staff were incredibly nice and polite throughout the evening. Everything was well organised, and the whole experience was truly fantastic from start to finish.
