If you're searching for immersive experiences in London, things to do in East London, or unusual date night ideas- stop here. Avora is the answer.
Went last night and it delivered on every level. From the moment you arrive at Hackney Road and get suited up in your jumpsuit at the Roscorp Laboratory, you're fully inside the story. The sets move from sleek corporate staging into a bioluminescent woodland that genuinely takes your breath away. The cocktails are built into the narrative rather than bolted on, which puts it well above the average immersive cocktail bar London has to offer.
What makes Avora stand out among London immersive theatre experiences is the cast. The actresses playing Mason and Dr Shelley were exceptional- present, funny, totally committed, and brilliant at reading the room. Live audience interaction at that level is a skill, and they had it in abundance. The kind of performances that make you forget you're in a ticketed event in Hoxton.
Whether you're planning a birthday night out in London, a corporate social, a hen do, or just a genuinely different Friday night, this belongs on your list. Easily one of the best immersive dining and cocktail experiences in the city- and for the price, outstanding value.
Book it. You won't regret it.

While the venue itself possesses a certain charm and undeniable potential, regrettably the overall experience fell far below expectations.
To begin with, the concept is rather misleading — guests are not truly invited to craft cocktails themselves, but are instead served pre-prepared fruity drinks with minimal interaction. The narrative element, which should have been the heart of the experience, felt underdeveloped and lacked immersion throughout.
Furthermore, the organisation and professionalism of the team left much to be desired. We had anticipated a more theatrical and thoughtfully curated atmosphere, with a stronger cast presence and costumes genuinely reflective of the theme. Instead, much of the evening consisted of aimlessly waiting to be escorted from one room to another, creating a sense of confusion rather than engagement.
Considering the premium price point, the experience simply does not offer adequate value for money. For what ultimately amounted to three cocktails and a fragmented storyline, the cost felt exceedingly difficult to justify.

This establishment provides a thoroughly unsatisfactory experience that we strongly advise against. The performances are subpar, the script is of poor quality, and the beverages are cheap and tasteless For those seeking a relaxing evening, this venue offers a frustrating and infantilizing experience. We regret not departing after the initial 20 minutes.
The significant financial investment in tickets, intended as a birthday gift for my husband, proved to be a considerable waste of both money and time.
Furthermore, the male performers exhibited a strong and unpleasant body odor, which was nearly Nauseating.

Disappointing experience all round and do not recommend. The actors were mediocre, the cocktails weak and very sweet. The middle part of the experience dragged on way too long and the actors spent all their time at other tables, ignoring ours. The third experience was then too rushed and some didn’t even get to finish their drinks. Once at the end, they didn’t even want us to use the toilets and even told some clients that there were public toilets nearby. They were in such a rush to get rid of everyone, even though it was the last show of the night. For the money, it was poor. There are far superior experiences in London. This one is amateur at best.

A truly immersive experience! From the moment we entered, we were treated like space cadets and the intricate details of the entire plot/scenary was brilliantly thought out; utterly impressive. Special kudos to the Avorian character ("Mother"), whose curiosity and endearing nature helped us all to become part of whole story! Also loved how the two Shellys interacted with the whole audience - we made great friends with some strangers which absolutely made the night more fantastic!
The only downside was that the character Mason could have been more selective and perceptive regarding which audience members he chose to shout at in extremely close proximity. Understandably, he has a role to play - however I was not the only woman who commented that it was genuinely intimidating when he got too close and removed the intended humourous effect of his character.
