On what planet is £52 value for money for two cinema tickets ?. Charging more based on the seat position and the seat is faulty as well !. No wonder cinemas are closing ,and the staff out number the patrons .So sad .

Talking to a fellow attendee after a wonderful writing workshop in Stafford, they mentioned to me about having gone to see the new Spider -Man movie in iSense. Curious about this format, I decided to use some money I had received on my birthday, and swing over for a viewing. Warmly welcomed by the ushers, their dedication to presenting the cinema in the best way possible shone through, with the ushers cleaning any popcorn etc that spilt over etc. The stylish Art Deco design on the walls of the foyer ( which features areas where phones can be charged , and a section where children can colour in movie themed drawings) reminded me of The Electric Cinema in Birmingham. Along with the usual cinema food and drinks of popcorn, coffee, fizzy drinks, and various snacks, the cinema has a surprisingly wide variety of spirits at the wonderfully named Oscar's Bar. Standing out from any other multiplex I've been to, the cinema also does cocktails and special popcorn buckets ( currently having ones for the new Insidious on sale.) Paying easily for my ticket with cash, ( and the usher helping me to choose a good seat) Just before I went to the screening, I noticed an interesting table in the foyer. Glazed in blue light, the iSense screening room had an excellent luxury atmosphere. Along with the sharp picture quality and pitch perfect audio, the leather seat was also extremely comfortable. Coming out of the screening smiling, I went over to the table in the foyer, which I found out was a charity table featuring film posters and merch. Whilst talking to a great usher, I decided to go for the poster for the Brendan Fraser film Pressure. As I thanked the usher for the poster, I mentioned that after my fantastic visit to see Spider-Man, that I will be swinging back to this cinema soon.

Go here somewhat regularly, staff are always amazing and so is the general cinema experience (VERY comfy seats, food/drink fine, good quality screens). They even have a table sometimes where you can purchase film posters and other old merch for charity! The trailers and adverts usually don't run for too long either, as compared to other cinemas, which is nice. My only complaint is the price. I understand it's an ODEON Luxe and those are the "luxury" ones, but it's definitely too expensive for what it is and makes a simple hobby nearly inaccessible to anyone not wanting to pay £18 - £25 for a seat NOT in the front row!! Until I caved in and signed up for ODEON's Limitless programme (which I had to get the more expensive because my local is a luxe!), I rarely saw new films in the cinema because it was too costly. This is largely a complaint about the Company's structure and business strategy however, and ODEON Stafford is still an amazing cinema and I'm satisfied after every visit.

Visited many a time over the past few years and whilst a great cinema, some of the screens are now in need a bit of TLC. For an apparent Odeon Luxe, peeling wooden tables and ripped leather recliners aren't what I consider luxury, especially when you think of the price you have to pay (especially families). There needs to be some investment in these areas. Cinema itself is clean, staff are friendly and helpful, comfortable seating but I think it's luxury element (which sold me to attend in the first place) is letting it down.
