I normally love this theatre but they permitted a showing during heat wave with no AC. The heat and humidity was horrific and we left before it started. Staff told us no AC, it's an old building. Should have been cancelled with refund. Old people would be ill sitting in that.

A good theatre. Parking in multi storey isnt too far away. Nice that it had air conditioning on a very hot evening!

Theatre dates are the best with my friend and I. We tend to go for the £15 tickets, otherwise it can be expensive. The theatre is always clean, with ushers around to stop any interruptions - put your phones away people, be present! 🙄 There is a cute bar inside the theatre (upstairs) and a bar in the foyer, or there's plenty of bars around for you to sit outside for a pre-show drink, or two... My only meh is the Aircon, it's an old building - so if, like me, you're of 'that' age, take your handheld fan...

I attended the Regent Theatre as a wheelchair user and had a deeply upsetting experience with the way accessibility was handled. I use an electrical attachment with my wheelchair to help me get around independently. Staff informed me that I had to remove this attachment because they considered it a “fire hazard.” This immediately raised serious concerns for me, because in the event of an emergency or evacuation, I would not have been able to leave the theatre safely or independently without it. I have attended many theatres and venues with this same attachment and have never once been told it was a fire hazard or asked to remove it. The lack of understanding and consideration shown here felt discriminatory and incredibly poorly thought through. To make matters worse, after I moved the attachment out of the way as instructed, I later went to retrieve it and it had disappeared. A member of staff had moved it elsewhere without informing me where it had been taken. As a disabled person relying on mobility equipment, having essential equipment moved without my knowledge is completely unacceptable and caused unnecessary stress and anxiety. The entire experience demonstrated a serious lack of disability awareness, communication, and respect. Accessibility should never leave disabled guests feeling unsafe, singled out, or unable to evacuate in an emergency. I hope the theatre reviews its policies, improves staff training around disability and mobility equipment, and ensures no other disabled guest is treated this way in future.
