This Odeon is a busy cinema located in a busy restaurant and entertainment centre with high footfall yet there were only two manned serving counters and four automated kiosks.
I was accompanying my friend who is wheelchair bound and we got in on time before the trailers, as I settled him then went out for drinks. The Kiosk machines are expected to be used as I was told by the manageress but the information in it was seriously lacking. I think people were actually actively avoiding the kiosks.
I wanted a large diet drink being diabetic and and normal cola. The kiosk had 4 options that all read the same incomplete information as in Freestyle cola but without displaying size and type as you buy. The drinks dont dispense here.
There was no staff handy to ask as all but one were behind the counters even though only two positions were open. The other person was the one ticket collector who needed to man the entrance to the screens.
I attempted to work it out over 5 minutes then went to stand in a queue at the counter behind two sets of people that came in behind me. I then waited what felt like a like a lifetime to get served before I lost my patience. I complained loudly to the manageress who only said that they were busy so to use the kiosk which I explained was the problem.
I was ready to be silent and wait when one young man behind the counter proceeded to threaten me that if I didn't stop shouting at the staff he would call security and have me thrown out. There was never any sympathy or apology given.
A person behind the counter came round and he was more pleasant. Even though he said I was out of order I could accept that and he managed to get my drinks ordered at the automated kiosk because I'm sure he needs to know the options.
As a 59 year old man with mental health problems I may have sounded aggressive but it was unintentional as I just wanted to say how unhappy I was and be heard. A sympathetic or apologetic attitude would have de escalated too.
In the end I was so upset I missed half the movie after bringing my friend his drink because I was very agitated and I had to leave the cinema to walk it off outside.
I may have became disruptive but the poor information from the kiosks, no staff to help, long queues behind only two counters and the appalling unsympathetic attitudes are all down to the Odeon.

IMAX is fantastic. The rest of it is a mixed bag ... food has to be queued for and if you've bought a drink, all you get is the cup to join another queue to serve yourself which is faintly bizzare & I doubt saves any staff time.

This was our first time at this cinema. We came to see The Odyssey and the staff were great — very friendly, welcoming, and helpful from the moment we arrived.
Unfortunately, the cinema experience was disappointing compared with East Kilbride. The seats were very uncomfortable and after sitting through the film our backs and legs were very sore. The seats only have cup holders and no fold-out trays for food, which makes it awkward trying to eat snacks during the movie. East Kilbride has more comfortable seating and better facilities, making it a much more enjoyable cinema experience.
It’s a shame because the staff were excellent and really made an effort, but the comfort and facilities let the cinema down. Because of this, we probably wouldn’t return and would choose East Kilbride instead.

Experience was ruined by the pre-order system. Pre-ordered ice cream and 3D glasses to be made to wait 30mins then told aw you've just to do that yourself cause ice cream is over there and you get glasses on the way in. Basically anyone could just steal ice cream when busy enough? Why did I pay for glasses if no one else was being checked?
Seats have very short backrests that most adults need to violently slouch to fit in. They were okay however not enough space to even take off a jacket.
The amount of people on their phones was disgusting, no staff around to deal with it. There wasn't even a turn off your phones message which was crazy cause that's like the bare minimum attempt to at least remind people it's not their house and others paid for this experience!
Some of the staff were nice and others not so much. The first person I spoke to before my first screening really had me think I would have gave this venue a higher rating however sadly no.
