Booked alcotraz for my mine and my friend’s birthday and had a a group of 17 in total. First of all, the price is ridiculous for an 1h45min experience, the cocktails were nice, however, considering your having to byob you’d expect a few more to be made in the time that your there. We were advised to bring 4 bottles of 700ml spirit for our group size, only 2 bottles were used, especially disappointing considering we were wanting different spirits throughout the evening, not just the 2 vodkas we brought. Therefore, they were clearly putting singles in all drinks, not sure why considering that’s not even a cost on their behalf. Acting wise, there was maybe a total of 8 minutes you were being half entertained by these guys leaving 1hr 38mins of twiddling your thumbs and don’t even think about trying to have a giggle with the actors, because you’ll get shut down immediately which really ruined the experience. I understand safeguarding of staff, but moaning about someone putting their hand through the cell bars, clearly not even attempting to interact with any of the actors, is beyond ridiculous. Really unhappy with how they run this place and ruined a birthday evening, attempting to try something different.

No food is served so the two starts are for the cocktails. My partner and I had the mocktails- some of them tasted okay but were VERY strong in terms of being sweet or sour. It felt like drinking pure syrup at points. The concept of having to ‘smuggle in’ alcohol is novel. My friend did that but please be aware you don’t have to actually hide your alcohol bottle at any point. My friend wore an outfit she was uncomfortable in for the sake of ‘smuggling it in’ and later lamented she would have worn something else. The bar staff don’t seem to keep track of whose alcohol is who’s. Instead opting to mix all the alcohol that had been brought in together to then put it into each alcoholic drink leading to some truly disgusting combination 🥲 you get not say in what your served. My friend brought rum but when I tried her drink it definitely had tequila in and something else. Luckily none of us had allergies but please be aware. There were about 5 cocktails served within the 90 mins, this felt quite generous and the timing of when they were served meant it prevented any lulls during the entertainment. Please bring your own water as it can get quite hot down there and we were only offered water at one point but you might be able to ask for it. If that was an option the lady who served our drink seemed confused and/ or a bit irritated when we asked ‘could we have the same cocktail as the last one next time’. The next time she just served the same thing everyone else got. Perhaps we didn’t read the small print well enough but this was quite disappointing. The entertainment value was exceptional though with actors being hilarious and brilliant at improve. Simultaneously managing attendees while continuing to make the experience immersive. Brilliantly decorated and well thought out. The story was engaging considering the set up. We did feel a bit ‘rushed though it’ at points. This is kind of the nature of the set up but it might be best if they lowered the capacity a bit as it sometimes felt a bit cramped and there weren’t enough seats in the cell we were assigned. I enjoyed it but please read everything in emails sent as someone with a sensitive disposition may find entertainment quite abrasive in nature. They do make you aware there will be shouting in the emails and before the entertainment starts… they’ll let you know this as they’re shouting what the performance will be like at you but yeah- read those emails! Please do not be late- unfortunately we had some party members who couldn’t make it on time and although I expected we’d need to just go in without them front of house staff did everything they could to try to accommodate us while also managing our expectations with this matter. I really appreciated that as we were the members who were on time so although the fault wasn’t necessarily with us I was expecting to be dismissed when asking for accommodation for the party members. They asked us if we wanted them to check whether they could put us on a later slot or said they’d give the late party member some leeway and she’d just have to miss the first cocktail. Unfortunately said member might have been later than we had originally thought as she said when she got there there was no one to see her in but due to the nature of the performance it would be difficult to come in late with how the staff need to explain the rules ect. It says in the email about how important it is to be on time as a result of the nature of the performance though so don’t expect this to be your experience, as a rule. Would probably go again if given the opportunity but perhaps not the best experience if you’re looking to do something a bit different.

Alcotraz London: Cell Block Two-One-Two is honestly one of the most entertaining, ridiculous, and brilliantly immersive nights out I’ve had in ages. From the second you step inside, the actors drag you straight into the story — no half‑hearted performances, they commit so hard you forget you’re in London and start wondering what crime you accidentally committed. The guards are hilarious, the warden is terrifying in the best way, and the whole smuggling‑your-booze-in routine had me giggling before we even got to our “cells”. The cocktails they make with your contraband are usually amazing… except mine, which tasted like it had been brewed in solitary confinement. I still drank it though because I’m not a quitter. The set design is spot‑on: gritty prison vibes, metal bars, orange jumpsuits, and cheeky little details everywhere. It genuinely feels like you’ve walked into a movie set. It’s chaotic, interactive, and full of moments where you’re laughing, shouting, and trying not to get caught by the guards. If you want a night that’s different, funny, and completely unforgettable, Alcotraz is absolutely worth it — even if your cocktail tastes like punishment.
