A magnificent historic theatre with plenty of character. The architecture is impressive both inside and out, and the building remains one of Liverpool’s standout landmarks. A wonderful venue that’s well worth visiting, even if it’s just to admire the building itself
The Liverpool Empire is a wonderful old theatre with tons of history and character. With a capacity of just over 2300 seats, it ensures that there is always a great atmosphere for performances and yet always manages to feel accessible and intimate at the same time. I've been going to this theatre for the last 40 plus years and it is always a pleasure. This time it was to see the storied German band, Kraftwerk. 2 hours of pure Germanic audio delight!

We went as a group of four to see the Kinks. Ordered drinks at bar. Asked what beers they had and chose bottles of staroprama. When opened and started drinking then I realised they were alcohol free. Spoke with the bar maid and she just said that's what we chose. No come backs there.
Seating in the front row of the circle, chosen as we thought there would be good leg room. How wrong were we, as somebody who is 6'-2" with a recent knee replacement It was the most uncomfortable I've ever been at any venue. During the break we all moved to the row behind and sat with my legs over the front chair. Got a few weird looks from people who were 5'-0".

Fantastic venue, comfortable seating, with the option of a booster cushion, although they are hard plastic. Toilets are very clean. All floors accessible by lift, although you will have a few steps to go up. We sat in seats A25 and A26 the first row of the circle, excellent view of the stage.
Very ornate Theatre and is situated next to a multi storey carpark, directing facing St. George's Hall. Very easy to get to, Blue badge holders can park in the adjacent streets on single yellow lines.
We had 2 J20's costing £9.80
And 2 small tubs of ice cream costing £9 I think.
Fantastic experience and would go again.

Personally I would give this place 2.5 out of 5, I was torn between 2-3 but there are more negatives than positives. I visited for the first time tonight and the building (especially inside) is absolutely stunning and beautiful to look at.
Unfortunately the negatives started with the ticket/email which said arrive from 6pm and arrive by 7pm with the show starting 7:30pm. Everyone was squashed into the bar/waiting area with a huge queue for merch with nowhere else to really go as the doors to sit down in the seats didn't open until 7pm which didn't make much sense to me to have everyone waiting crowded together. I didn't find the leg room too bad although I did start getting cramp and had the people behind me kicking or knocking my seat numerous times. The seats themselves though are awful, they have to be the most uncomfortable seats I've ever had the displeasure of sitting on. It was very hard to get comfy and not feel sore from them. For this reason alone I'm not sure I would come back as it's not enjoyable to sit there for hours.
On another note, may be an idea to have someone on a speaker to say about no phones etc as the woman going round holding the sign up didn't say a word and half the people were looking down on their phones!
