I'm a very infrequent cinema-goer usually going to a Picturehouse rather than any of the big mainstream chains. I saw The Odyssey last night and was really disappointed at the litter and how dirty it was. I bought one of the most expensive seats - also a massive disappointment, I was afraid to touch the cupholder and I thought it might recline, but it didn't. The emergency exit sign was positioned right beside the screen - it was bright (as it should be) but a real distraction. It made me remember just why I don't go to the mainstream chains.

My family and I (4 in total) choose the Beckenham venue to watch Spiderman: Brand new day. What a mistake!
I completely understand that Odeon and their staff are powerless to control other people's behaviour whilst in public, but are they also powerless to throw people out?
The entire length of a 2hour move (plus the trailers), there was raucous and disruptive behaviour, phones ringing, vigilante shouting in frustration to the behaviour which just lead to more laughter and disruption.
I'm not convinced that these rooms are not surveillanced, as that would bring up serious concerns of safety, what if someone was to have a medical emergency or was assaulted, would Odeon staff really only become aware when cleaning the room after a showing?
Long story short. Go to the Vue in Bromley, it's a bit more expensive, but they have better screens, seats and the staff are more engaged.

We saw a blockbuster on Screen 2, and I was shocked by the poor quality of the screen and even more so the sound (or lack thereof). The bass was non-existent. Hard to imagine such a dated experience in 2026. Car park is quite small and we could not find parking, had to park in the Sainsbury's car park opposite. Shoddy quality of popcorn as well
Staff were super friendly though, but this cinema is dated. Would not recommend, specially if the film demands a good screen and sound

Went to use some vitality vouchers to see the Odyssey. I had one voucher for a free ticket and 1 for 50% off. It didn't mention any specific seat types being allowed or not, however it seems the vouchers only apply to Classic and Classic saver seats, not Classic popular or premier. It is fair enough to do that, but it should say. Furthermore, and this is the worst part, to upgrade to Classic Popular, I need to pay MORE than the difference in ticket prices between Classic and Classic popular - a £4 upgrade fee when they are £7 and £10 respectively. So much for a free ticket. It is a similar story for the 50% off voucher.

Absolutely fantastic customer service today watching Spider-Man love the fact we still can get access to a odeon near us 🫶 all the staff today were incredible one minute the line was at the front of the entrance within minutes there was no line , and they was all still smiling behind them counter .
Everyone’s order was handled, we was made to fully aware of what time the film starts so there was no panic at all . I ordered a collectors edition popcorn thing was not disappointed at all the popcorn lasted 2 whole hours and a large drink honestly the staff every day are great here - but with the spider man hype and pressure today they really went above and beyond they are a credit to the franchise and to each other
