Great cinema let down by the incredibly slow service at the food counters.

Visited last week, the seat I had book had vomit stains all over it and the smell was unbearable. The staff had placed a hand scribbled notes saying they didn’t have equipment to properly clean it. I move a few rows forward and could still smell it. Putrid. I mentioned to the staff aim the foyer and they signposted me to the note. Honestly, £25 to go to the cinema and this is the state of repair. From speaking to friends and family, they have similar experiences to the cleanliness of this cinema.

This was the seat I had to sit in and yes I did tell the staff and the guy said that's just the way they are. This used to be my favourite cinema. It's definitely gone down hill the last 5 years. Needs a good maintenance check.

Really good experience at ODEON Luxe Quay. The cinema is modern, clean and comfortable, with fantastic reclining seats that make watching a film so much more enjoyable. The picture and sound quality are excellent and the whole place has a really nice atmosphere. There’s also a Costa inside the cinema, which is handy if you fancy a coffee or something to eat before the film. The Quay itself has loads of restaurants and places to eat nearby so there’s plenty of choice before or after your film. The staff were friendly and helpful, and everything was well organised. Only downside I would say is the cleanliness of the disabled toilets. Urine was all over the flood and blood on the toilet seat. Free parking is also available at the complex, which is a great bonus. Definitely one of the nicer cinemas in Glasgow and somewhere I’d happily come back to.

The sound quality in the iSense screen, which I believe is screen 1, is actually awful. I'd already seen The Odyssey at Omniplex so I have a good reference point, and there I could understand every moment of dialogue without straining my ears, and the music sounded great. Here, however, was the polar opposite. Scenes that had any echoing effect further echoed and reverberated in the room which was distracting. The bass was absolutely horrific and ruined all musical beats as well as muddling the dialogue. To make matters worse, the audio would clip when it got too loud! There was a popping static noise during any loud scene that was so distracting during pivotal parts of the film. It was a shame many people in this cinema would likely go on to take this as a criticism of the film rather than the venue The audio system they are using is clearly in need of repair. I'd avoid bothering with the iSense at the moment and stick with laser.
