  Went in today with my 12 year old son. The supervisor was extremely rude to us. We asked for her 1st name and her head office number. She refused to give either. I asked if I could speak to the manager and she said he was off. How is started, whilst I was stood by the tshirts I heard someone loudly saying to the other staff member behind the tills that the kid is fat and probably smelt of body sweat. I was a little confused, thought nothing of it thinking they were having a conversation about something else, BUT it took me a second for the penny to drop and to work out she was actually talking about my son. My 12 year old son who has insulin issues and already aware about his weight! She announced loudly whilst stomping away from me, not talking to me, but to the other staff member that my son was unhygienic because he tried on a stranger things tshirt. And now they couldn't sell the top because it was dirty. I said, hang on a minute are you talking about my child, tbey said yes. I said have they never tried on clothes, she said shops like new look and matalan can wash the clothes after they are tried on...... is this woman is on another planet!!!?? When she realised she was talking pants and what she said was wrong, she then tried to tell me I was being abusive. I wasn't at all, I never once raised my voice, I was more in shock with what babble she was coming out with. I wasn't stood close or approached her. She said sorry for calling my child unhygienic, but trying on the clothes was against the company policy and the clothing would have to be written off. There are ways of going about things, ok if thats the policy then a quick "really sorry we don't allow the tshirts to be tried on" would have been all it needed, it would have been absolutely fine. But to walk up to us, huff and puff and moan loudly about "the kid" trying on clothes as he is unhygienic wasn't acceptable. I said i was contacting head office, she then burst into tears telling her staff member she doesnt get paid enough to have to deal with abuse day in day out. But she did it on display at the tills, making a drama of it. Maybe if she is getting abuse daily at work, maybe she should think why, and is it possibly the way she talks to others?? I wasn't abusive at all, I'd welcome the managers to watch the cctv if anything is said otherwise. I'm so chilled out. I was just so shocked and I felt so sorry for my 12 year old who is actually very clean, well kept, smells lovely and is an absolutely lovely person inside and out! I pride myself of my own and my childrens appearance. I will be continuing to contact head office.

  quite a nice place with alot of stock in almost everything you would go to hmv for, workers are really nice but the reason for a 4* is there are not to many workers and if its busy you may need to wait a bit before someone can be with you but other than this it is a very good place

  Tried to go in there at 3.40 on a Sunday, my family was met at the door and informed unless we know what we want we can't come in. I worked at a virgin megastore/zavvi/hmv years ago and id of got my head bitten off for turning away custom before closing time. I understand one has to cash up and probably change the charts around etc etc but to start turning people away 20 minutes before close in amusing. This is a small branch, we could of walked around it within a matter of minutes.
