  Never been in a comfier seat! Great experience. The kids all wanted meals and I won't make that mistake again. Cost me more than the film did lol

  Laddie working the counter at 11am on Wednesday 12th August is lovely - Ben I think his name was - amazing to see a young guy take such a professional approach to work and looking after people, A++ hospitality and wonderful to see - thoroughly impressed, thank you for your warmth. All staff lovely, great team culture, visible and appreciated x

  Disappointing Customer Service Experience I have been a regular customer at the Wester Hailes ODEON since I was a child and have been coming to this cinema for around 24 years. It has therefore always been a place I have felt familiar and comfortable with, which is why my experience today was particularly disappointing. I visited the cinema today to watch The Odyssey. When I went to scan my ticket, the member of staff checking tickets stopped me and asked for my age. I was initially taken aback, as the film is rated 15, but I completely understood that he may have thought I looked younger than the required age. I had no issue with being asked the question itself and was happy to clarify my age. What disappointed me was the way the situation was handled afterwards. When I explained that I was considerably older than 15, rather than simply acknowledging the misunderstanding or apologising, the staff member responded with, “Oh, you look a lot younger than you actually are for your age.” This comment made the interaction unnecessarily awkward and uncomfortable. At that point, it felt as though the focus had shifted from a straightforward age check to trying to justify why I had been questioned, rather than simply acknowledging the mistake and moving on professionally. Having previously worked in hospitality for several years, I understand the importance of customer service and, more importantly, how staff should handle situations where there has been a misunderstanding. I would have had absolutely no issue with being asked for my age if the interaction had simply ended with a polite apology or acknowledgement. Unfortunately, the way the member of staff proceeded left me feeling that the service I received was dismissive and lacking in professionalism. I appreciate that staff have procedures they need to follow regarding age-restricted films, and I am not complaining about being asked my age. My concern is specifically about the manner in which the interaction was handled and the comments made afterwards. I hope this feedback can be taken constructively and that the staff member can be reminded of the importance of handling these situations with professionalism, courtesy and good customer service.

  Great, clean place, and the seats are superb! I've never been so relaxed watching a movie. The only let-down was the food ordering system. It doesn't work very well when it's busy. You order your food at a self service machine and wait for it to be ready, but if you want to add or change anything, you have to go back and start the whole order again. The collection point doesn't have any tills either, so even if you're only collecting bottled drinks or sweets, you still have to wait in the same queue and show proof of your order. Overall, it's a great cinema with very comfortable seating, but the food ordering process could definitely be improved.
