Although it is overall a good cinemas, I think that the smaller rooms could do with refurbishment. Feels outdated and there were no built-in AC’s (there were portables but were not strong) making the room extremely hot.

The overall experience of this cinema was mediocre,Me and my partner went to watch the new insidious this evening and it was ridiculously hot in there with no air conditioning on with a fair few people in there and the cinema chairs might be the most uncomfortable thing I’ve ever sat on.In witch this caused us to leave early we was disappointed as we was enjoying the film apart from that I can’t fault the service from the staff it was good
Wonderful Staff , Especially Abbie the red haired cinema extraordinaire who helped me with the technology on the screen .
Bravo young lady

Really disappointing experience at ODEON Merry Hill. The service was poor and the cinema itself feels very outdated, with old, uncomfortable seating and infrastructure that clearly needs some investment.
To make matters worse, the doors to the screening room were left open, meaning I could clearly hear noise from the other cinema rooms during the film. It completely took away from the experience.
For the prices charged, I expected a much better standard. Overall, very disappointing and not an experience i expected.
PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COST!!!

ODEON Merry Hill is badly in need of a major refurbishment. Yesterday was the first time I've been to ODEON Merry Hill in 10 years, and I was genuinely surprised by how dated it still feels, and I was surprised by the fact that nothing in the cinema had been changed in that time. From the entrance foyer to the screens themselves, the whole place feels like it has been left behind.
Having old-style cinema seating with such poor legroom in 2026 is honestly unacceptable. Every other cinema I’ve visited in recent years has been miles better in terms of comfort, presentation and overall experience. I’ve even been to independent cinemas that feel far more modern and better maintained than this.
I appreciate that ODEON Luxe Broadway Plaza is a Luxe cinema, so it isn’t a completely fair like-for-like comparison, but the difference is still night and day. ODEON Broadway Plaza feels modern, comfortable and premium, while Merry Hill feels tired, neglected and completely outdated.
For such a large and busy shopping centre, ODEON Merry Hill should be far better than this. In its current state, it is frankly a disgrace to the ODEON name. The entire place needs refurbishing from top to bottom; the foyer, seating, legroom, screens and general presentation all need bringing into the modern era.
I won’t be going back to ODEON Merry Hill until it's properly refurbished. There are simply too many better cinema options available to justify paying to watch a film in such an outdated venue.
