Horribly rude manager; after returning two pairs of cheap JBL headphones in the week that were almost a year old with valid receipts! I was given refunds, I usually buy them again or sometimes 3x pairs at a time, I use them daily but never in bed. I am always told by staff to save the receipt which i do, on this 3rd return I'm now told I can have a credit note but "I can no longer buy JBL earbuds" saying I'm returning them much more than other customers he stated 4 times, that's a complete lie, even though the last two pairs were nearly a year in use!
I record my complaint not facing anyone and the manager cuts across me with his arm and says "You can't record in the store" "You are ok to leave now!" I said "I thought it was a public place?" he gets louder "ITS NOT A PUBLIC PLACE!" So customers aren't aloud to ask? I could have been taking a picture for a friend of the Sale Prices but that's not aloud? Instant ban from the store ? And why shout at me!? You caused me alarm and distress there was no need for that and I have the audio recorded. All the time I'm pointing my phone down, but I should have recorded his face because I thought he could get physical the way he started losing his cool. I've been coming here for 20+ years, well it's Amazon Prime from now on. I can't use the credit note as I'm probably now banned ?? I was peaceful the whole time my video proves this! Horrible experience and my third receipt was valid, you don't get any of this poor treatment at Amazon.

Really enjoyed visiting HMV in Brighton!
The store has a great selection of merch, vinyls, CDs, and collectibles, with plenty of interesting items to browse through for music and pop culture fans. The atmosphere was nice and the shop felt well organised.
A special mention for the staff, who were absolutely lovely, welcoming, and clearly passionate about the products they sell. You can tell they genuinely enjoy what they do, and they were happy to help and chat about music and merch, which made the experience even better.
Some products felt a little on the expensive side, but that’s probably more due to the brands and official merch pricing than the staff or the store itself. Overall, it’s still a very enjoyable shop and definitely worth a visit if you’re in Brighton.

Dutch person here!! Was on school trip to Brighton and I'd been wishing to go to HMV since FOREVER, so this was definitely on my bucketlist! Sadly had to cut the visit short, because we were late to meet our teachers at the pier, but I bought a blur and tame impala CD. Amazing store, I felt at home lol

When will my order arrive in store?
The majority of orders placed in store generally arrive within approximately 7-10* working days, however, delays can sometimes unavoidably occur and it may take longer for an item to be replenished but we'll actively attempt to source your item for a period of 28 days.*Please note that certain items may take longer to source than the average 7-10 days and may take longer to arrive in store.
Do Gift Cards expire?
Gift Cards are valid for 24 months from the date of purchase. If the card is used during this period the expiry date is extended by a further 24 months from the date of the last use.
Use constitutes spending, adding value or simply making a balance enquiry in one of our hmv or FOPP stores, or over the phone using our automated service.
How do I buy/use a Gift Card?
You can purchase a Gift Card at your local hmv or FOPP store. Simply ask a member of staff at the till and they'll be able to add any amount of your choosing up to the value of £250. When spending a gift card, you can use it as part payment and any remaining balance will remain on the card for 24 consecutive months from the date last used. What's also great is you can use a Fopp gift card in all hmv stores and vice versa.
How do I check my Gift Card balance?
Any member of staff in-store will be able to check the balance of your hmv Gift Card. Alternatively, you can call your local store and select option 4 to check the balance over the phone. Details of your local store can be found here: hmv.com/store-finder. Additionally, you can call our customer service line and use our automated service to check and extend a currently active card - simply ring 03333 234 754 and follow the options.
What is your in store returns policy?
We will exchange or refund most items purchased in error, or unwanted gifts, provided that they are returned to any hmv or FOPP store unopened, unused, unworn, and in perfect condition within 21 days of purchase and accompanied by a valid receipt. Some exclusions apply including, but not limited to: store.hmv.com purchases [please visit our online returns articles for more] Gift Cards, Products containing downloadable content including but not limited to UltraViolet codes, Food and beverages, Digital and games credit and subscriptions, PC games. These products are excluded from our Returns Policy and can only be returned in accordance with your statutory rights
Do you offer student, NHS or UK Forces discount?
We do not currently offer any discounts of this nature.
What vouchers/gift cards do you accept?
We currently accept a number of third-party vouchers, including (but not limited to) vouchers issued by Love2shop and any card bearing the Flexecash logo. All vouchers/cards must be within their expiry dates.
What forms of ID do you accept?
We accept Photo Driving Licences and Passports and any cards featuring the PASS (Proof of Age Standards Scheme) hologram, eg. CitizenCard, Connexions Card, Portman Group Card, Validate UK and Young Scot, subject to our discretion.
Can I collect my order at another store?
Orders can not be transferred between stores and will need to be collected from the store it was originally placed.
Is my in store order ready to collect?
If you provided a mobile number when you placed your order, we'll keep you updated by text message at regular intervals should there be any delays and will send you a final text message as soon as your order has arrived at the store and is ready to collect.
