  After leaving showcase in reading 10 minutes into a movie. As the usual suspects cared more about talking, talking selfies and arguing. We come to Basingstoke. The concession staff and manager extremely friendly and welcoming. I forget the managers name. I know his favorite movie is "little women". After losing faith in humanity, it was nice to see the film and people took their rubbish out to put it in the nearby bins. No one spoke, shouted, fought , took sandles off, took selfies or chucked around food. Was it 8 billion degrees in the theatre and alot of lights on during the movie? Sure. But sacrifices needed to be made

  I love going to the odeon. The staff are always very friendly and really patient when ordering. The food is tasty and they have a nice range of drinks available.

  It is all good. Nothing to complain about the service and team. But definitely could do lot better in terms of maintaining the theatre.

  I’ve been going to the Odeon Cinema Basingstoke for over 30 years, and it’s been quite something to watch its journey over that time — both the highs and the gradual decline. Back in the day, it was always busy and full of life, with a small arcade and sweet parlour adding to the atmosphere. These days, it feels much quieter, with the old ticket entrance sitting unused and large areas inside feeling a bit empty. The seating isn’t the most comfortable anymore, and some of the screens could definitely do with an upgrade. That said, it’s still a great place to watch a movie, and there’s something about it that keeps me coming back. Every visit brings a real sense of nostalgia, and I genuinely appreciate that it’s still open and running after all these years. I do feel the old girl could really benefit from a major refresh. With some investment — especially in seating and screen quality — it could easily attract more people again and become a strong alternative to places like Vue Cinema Basingstoke. It’s a place with a lot of history and character — it just needs a bit of love to bring it back to its former glory.
