I wouldn’t go back to City Winery. We attended the Lord of the Rings drag brunch last weekend, and to be clear, this is not a complaint about the performance. Wussy Mag and their performers were incredible, as always. We’ve supported them for a long time and will continue to do so.
The issue was the service.
When we sat down, a server took our order. The only food option was the breakfast buffet, which I absolutely would not recommend. It was on par with a cheap catered meal and nowhere near worth the $35 price tag. Regardless, we ordered the buffet and a bottle of champagne for mimosas. After the bottle arrived, we didn’t see our server again until after the show ended.
The real problem came with the check. When it arrived, the total seemed higher than expected. My friend and I asked whether gratuity was included, and the server explicitly said no. We tipped 20% on top of the total anyway, though it didn’t sit right. When he returned, I asked for a final printed receipt, and suddenly, the extra 20% tip had been removed.
When I got home, I called customer service to request a full check breakdown. It turns out gratuity had been included the entire time. The server had lied and attempted to collect an additional 20%, effectively trying to get a 40% tip. The receipt we initially signed reflected that, but he removed the extra tip on the last printed receipt he gave us once he realized we noticed.
Honestly, if he had said it was a mistake, I would have let it go and let him keep the extra tip. What bothered me was the lying, doubling down, and then quietly deleting the charge when he knew he’d been caught. It was really unprofessional behavior and because of that experience, I won’t be returning to City Winery.
The atmosphere is wonderful. The service is good. The food sucks. I'm unsure of how else to swing it. I've attended City Winery for years and I love their evening music and art concerts. I don't mind the two minimum item. I know they see the reviews about the food and I can tell that they have attempted to make a change, but it keeps getting worse. $12 for McDonald's fries? At least change the price to $6. But $12? They're plan jane and not worth $6 to be honest; however, I do understand that they need to make money. They have so much more potential for this venue as it relates to the food. There are a ton of restaurants in Atlanta that sell Tapas and you have really really good options for those menu items. And they taste GREAT!! City Winery continues to fail in this area. They have pizza or what they would call Flatbread... horrible. They used to have flatbread a few years ago and it was pretty good. This time it just lacks taste. The cheese is bland. If you do get anything with SHRIMP, it's 2 to 3 BABY shrimp on an item for $18. The kabobs and other items on the menu just don't live up to the hype. The buffalo chicken sandwich is promising but it still feels to live up to the cost that's associated with it. The burger is okay. I keep trying different things and I'm always disappointed. I will say that the spicy wings are a hit. I would definitely encourage keeping those and maybe adding a side fry with them, as a combo. I used to look forward to having a bite to eat while watching a show but I dread it. Absolutely, absolutely dread it. They need to really focus on flavor, variety and bang for your buck. I even attended a brunch one time and the food sucked as well. The offering did not match the cost. Not trying to be pessimistic, but honest. For them to be a premier venue in the city I want the venue to start living up to the hype when it comes to food options. If they didn't serve food and just had drinks, along with the service, I would give it a 4.5.

I decided to bring in 2026 at City Winery. This was my second time going to City Winery. The first time I went was to see Kut Klose & the show was great, but the service was awful. It took over an hour to bring my drink. The manager personally came over to apologize and I appreciated that. Overall, it was a great show & great atmosphere.
Fast forward to December 31, 2025. My bf & I arrived there about 11. Literally as soon as we checked in, they informed us the kitchen was closed. I just couldn’t understand why the kitchen would be closed for a New Year celebration. Nevertheless, we ordered our drinks, which didn’t come out literally until about 3 minutes before the countdown to bring in 2026. We tried to get our server’s attention on numerous occasions, but we were being ignored.
Even though the service wasn’t great, the vibes were still amazing! Great music & I enjoy seeing the live band. I’ll probably give it another try but on a night that’s not so busy. The Caesar salad here is great!

My husband took me to see El Debarge on Dec 18th. Me being a huge El Debarge fan was totally excited.
This was my first night out while battling chemotherapy.
The show was scheduled to begin at 8pm. Instead it started at 8:35pm.
But hold on it gets worse. El Debarge comes out singing to a pre recorded tape. City Winery team couldn't get it together so El Debarge actually stopped singing several times, walking to the back to address the issue. We'll the problem continued all night. Then at 9:30 pm El was done. He thanked everyone and left.
City winery needed to pay all of us for this show. I feel ripped off. I had to buy food, drinks for a crappie show. I've never attended a show that ran only an hour. Im totally disappointed. The waiters were loud, rowdy and very unprofessional. Talking all over your food.
I should've stayed in the bed.

I would like to express my dissatisfaction with a recent dining experience. I ordered the grilled shrimp and vegetables, but upon receiving my meal, I was surprised by the portion of vegetables provided. After some effort, I was able to speak with a waitress and requested to see the manager. When the manager arrived, I had not yet consumed any of my food. While he did arrange for additional vegetables to be added to my skewers, I was disappointed that no apology was offered. As a frequent patron of your establishment, visiting several times annually, this is an unprecedented experience. I plan to attend another concert at your venue on Monday, but I will refrain from ordering food. I recognize that businesses are facing economic challenges, but I believe this particular instance was excessive. This experience has left me profoundly disappointed.
