  I’ve been here too many nights to count because I love how much their bartenders always take care of myself and whoever I bring. Caroline, the GM, is a true example of great leadership as she is always checking in on her guests and making sure the team is okay! You can tell everyone here loves their job!

  Ok I have it 3 stars because you cannot be cute and wear expensive red bottoms to Maru. The heel kept getting stuck in between the cracks and tore the heel of my red bottoms that I only wore twice I do not recommend wearing any expensive heels women not worth the stress. Food is great. Vibes are so cute & drinks are cute

  Marin Mondays at Maru Rooftop Nikkei are always a highlight! The rooftop views over Tampa Bay are perfect, and the new Nikkei menu is killing it with creative small plates. The Nikkei Fish Tacos were outstanding — market catch blackened just right, topped with bold salsa aji amarillo, pickled red onion, fresh cilantro, and queso fresco. Spicy, zesty, and incredibly fresh. The Meatball Peruano was equally delicious: juicy pork meatballs in a vibrant aji verde sauce with chalaquita and cilantro. Both dishes capture that perfect Japanese-Peruvian fusion. But honestly, what makes the night special is Marin behind the bar. She’s absolutely amazing — super welcoming, full of positive energy, quick with the drinks, and she just makes everyone feel cared for and happy. Her vibe turns a great meal into an unforgettable experience. She’s easily one of the best parts of Maru! If you’re in Tampa, do yourself a favor and go for Marin Mondays. Ask for Marin — you’ll see why she’s so loved. Already planning my return for more of those fish tacos! Highly recommend.

  Maru was a great experience!! The manager, Caroline, was so helpful in giving me a tour of the building and recommending the perfect cocktail. The bartenders Camden and Brendan were great too.

  I was blocked from entering by an unprofessional “security guard” in a jersey and shorts, playing on his phone.. He said no slides…(despite being Gucci and dressed nicely) Nowhere on OpenTable or their website says shoes required. Requested a manager and had to wait 15 minutes, I was finally allowed in with no apology. I saw a young guy with a sleeveless shirt and flip flops as I entered… Their bottle service is laughable. I had an outdoor table booked, but they sat us by their little kitchen where a strong burning oil smell was funneling out leaving my linen outfit smelling. Only positive, server was nice and attentive. Drinks were ok. Highly NOT recommended.
