About

Comedy ClubRestaurantEvent VenueFundraisingDinner TheaterBusiness Meeting Locations
Since 1963, the Improvisation Comedy Clubs have remained the premier stages for live comedy in the United States. Over the decades, the talent who have graced Improv stages represent the Who’s Who in American comedy. Located at the epicenter of the entertainment world, the legendary Hollywood Improv opened decades ago and continues to deliver a combination of A-list comedy, great food and strong cocktails. In the days leading up to its 1975 opening, a young Jay Leno could be found helping paint the ceilings. The club’s iconic brick wall and trademark piano have become symbols of stand-up comedy around the globe. Hollywood Improv is recognized for developing the careers of countless comedy superstars and providing the setting for the popular television show, “An Evening at the Improv.” As in New York, the next generation of artists and entertainment executives worked the Improv—on stage, in the house, and behind the bar. Actor/comedian Adam Devine (“Workaholics,” “Pitch Perfect”), comedy manager Jimmy Miller (Jim Carrey), and writer/producer/director Judd Apatow (“The 40 Year-Old Virgin” “Knocked Up”) were part of the fraternity of door managers. Actress Debra Winger (“Urban Cowboy,” “Terms of Endearment”) and writer Callie Khouri (“Thelma & Louise”) were waitresses. And the very first bartender was actor/comedian Kevin Nealon (“SNL,” “Weeds”).

You won’t find this kind of jokes on Netflix. It’s so unfiltered and dark LOL

I saw Anthony Jeselnik and Craig Robinson at the bar. I could be bothered to enter the showroom because... comedy? Guh-ross! Anyway, I spoke at both of them and I preferred Craig and that's where the 5 stars come from as well as the bartender. Jeselnik was a solid 4 stars but was no match for CR and staff.

Cozy place for lots of laughs. Good food. Plenty of parking options nearby. We saw Damon Wayans and Jay Leno here, they were ROTF funny!

Would give negative stars if I could. This is in regard to the show on March 19th ft. Nikki Glaser, Damon Wayans, Craig Robinson, Brian Monarch, and “very special guests.” Very special guests indeed. Nikki was great as always—honestly, there should’ve been a disclaimer to leave immediately after her set while morale was still intact. Let’s get to it. Came for comedy, stayed for an accidental horror show. Normally, stand-up is my go-to for a solid night out. Yesterday? Character development. What I got was chaotic open-mic energy, painfully unfunny “yo mama”-level jokes, and a surprising amount of outright sexist material that made it feel like I’d time-traveled to a middle schooler’s basement in the early 2000s. It was like being trapped with a group of teenagers daring each other to be progressively less funny. And just when I thought it couldn’t get more confusing, the last guy decided to… put on a concert. Mid-“set,” he announced (unprovoked) that he hasn’t eaten ass in five years and never will again—then seamlessly transitioned into a song I have a deep personal connection to because my dad and I used to sing it together. Truly the emotional whiplash I didn’t ask for. At one point, I started scanning the room for hidden cameras because surely this was a prank. It was not. The show wouldn’t end, and people started leaving—not out of rudeness, but basic survival instinct. Would not recommend unless you enjoy secondhand embarrassment as a form of cardio. A refund would be the only joke that actually lands.
