I was somewhat apprehensive and did not know what to expect with formal lessons, but Iryna could not have made it easier to set out on my piano journey. From the first lesson her patience, knowledge, and skill as a teacher were readily apparent. We began with the most fundamental aspects of piano technique and music theory, and have steadily progressed from there. I have been her student for almost four years, and we are now studying the works of Chopin, Rachmaninoff, and Beethoven – the very pieces that inspired me to take up piano in the first place. Iryna has remained dedicated to my musical development, and tailors our lessons to my own needs and goals. I highly recommend her services to anyone looking to study the piano, regardless of age or ability.

Last summer some 50 years later I started lessons with Iryna, she has patiently taught me that there is so much more, how to strike the keys to get the right sound and feel the music. She is an excellent teacher who diligently explains music theory and how to get the most from my playing. Iryna’s studio has 2 grand pianos side by side which is a great arrangement that allows her to easily demonstrate or for us to play together. I highly recommend Iryna as a piano teacher that can take your piano playing to a higher level.

I love the solid foundation of technique and music theory I have received. I am pushed just enough for my practice and lessons to be challenging, but still fun! Mrs. Iryna is an amazing pianist and instructor and I feel so very lucky we have her here in Anchorage!!
