We had what I'd consider a very strange experience with MacIntyre. We bought our house—our first home!—in the summer of 2020. MacIntyre had recently filled the oil tank, and we were about to install heat pumps, so we asked the company to take us off the automatic refill schedule and to only deliver oil when we call. They confirmed, we used about half a tank that winter, and we forgot about it.
This fall, MacIntyre filled up our tank, even though we hadn't called. We are going to remove our old furnace and install a wood stove next year, so it's important that we be able to carefully manage the amount of oil in our tank. Given that we only used half the tank last winter, having a full tank again was too much. We called MacIntyre to confirm that we were only supposed to receive deliveries when we called. They quickly agreed that the delivery had been their mistake and offered to remove the oil, though the crew that came to do the work seemed very irritable.
Fast forward through a few deep cold snaps and it now looks like we'll need a little extra oil to get us through the winter. Not as much as was delivered accidentally, but enough to weather February. However, when we called MacIntyre to ask for a top up, we were told that their dispatcher refused to deliver to us after the accidental delivery and removal in the fall.
We can only assume that this refusal is due to the inconvenience of removing oil from our tank—but again, we had confirmed that we were on the call-only list, the oil was delivered without our having asked for it, and it was more than we will end up needing. We can't help but feel that we are being penalized for a mistake that wasn't ours, and we're disappointed with how MacIntyre has handled the whole situation, beginning to end.

Macintyre addressed our shower problem quickly and perfectly. They were super-responsive and got to our house three days ahead of schedule.
