I regret not contacting Cheshire Glass sooner. I live in Jaffrey and they were quick to schedule a walkthrough of my home to go over my projects. The work consisted of double hung hardware and window pane replacement. Josh is personable and professional. He explained what my options were and even pointed out some other issues that could be fixed. His craftsmanship is excellent and we are very happy with the quality of the work. Part of the scope of work that I was hoping to get done was to improve the functionality of the original wooden windows on the second floor of my home. A way to achieve this was to replace the window jamb liners of the windows. Unfortunately, the windows are so old and the liners a unique design that they could not be identified. I bring this up to highlight the effort that Josh, Melissa, and John put in trying to research my windows to solve this problem. While an alternative was devised to improve these windows without replacing the liners, the receptiveness to my own research and the attempt to problem solve for me puts Cheshire Glass as a step above the rest. Lastly, I had them rescreen ~15 screen frames, including storm screen inserts and am very happy with the price and the results. It is an amazing feeling that I am able to open my upstairs windows and enjoy the fresh air. Jill is lovely and made drop off and pick up a smooth experience. I have already recommended Cheshire Glass to several friends and coworkers and will continue to do so. TLDR: Great people Solid craftsmanship Reasonable prices

After the preliminary planning, our estimator visits your home to take precise measurements and assess design factors such as wall and floor irregularities, slopes, knee walls, and optimal anchor points. We then provide you with pricing and available options. Upon your approval of the quote, we release the design specifications for production. From that stage, you can expect a four-to-six-week timeline before we return to install your beautiful new custom-designed shower enclosure. How can I clean a "milky fog" that has appeared between my window glass?
Unfortunately, this cannot be cleaned. This condition is known as a failed seal, referring to the black rubbery material along the outer edge. It occurs in improperly manufactured or aging insulated glass units (IGUs). What has happened is that moisture has entered through a delamination or breach in the previously sealed air space between the two panes of glass, causing condensation to form on one or both surfaces. What exactly is an insulated glass unit or IGU?
An IGU is a sealed unit composed of two or more panes of glass with an insulating spacer around the perimeter to establish an air barrier between them. In higher-quality units, the spacer often contains a desiccant that absorbs moisture within the air barrier. Some insulating spacers incorporate argon or krypton gas to provide additional insulation. The primary advantage of an IGU is its capacity to reduce the transfer of heat or cold through the window.
