  Ottawa Location: 1.Scrap Metal Industries permits short Caucasian employee to smoke cigarettes in public areas you must access to weigh non-ferrous scrap and receive payment. 2. Short Caucasian employee very rude and is known to close the location before posted times online and sign outside the facility. 3. Scale is frequently down; so you will have to go to Ottawa Co-opp to weigh your load.; and you have to return the Coop to weigh empty. And then drive back to scrap yard to get paid. 4. Langley, Wes Recycling and KC Iron and Steel KCMO pays twice as much. 5. Small, angry Caucasian man refused to extinguish his cigarette. Instead, he lit another one and blew smoke in my direction. I’m severely allergic to tobacco smoke. Report incidents to the Ottawa Health Department and Ottawa City Police so you can preserve your legal rights to sue.

  It's better not to go there, they're cheating people on both the scales and the price. I was there today and gave aluminum. At first, they said the price would be 45 cents a pound, then they changed their minds and gave the price 30 cents a pound. I unloaded all the aluminum from my car, and when I came to get the money for my metal, they told me that I brought from 200 pound of water, and the total weight was 840 pound. When I said you were laughing at me before they gave me $195 in cash and said come here. This company didn't give me any invoice, even though they have a cash dispenser machine. They scammed me out of $183 This isn't the first time they've wanted to scam me. It's better to go to Topeka or Kansas City, where you can give your metal twice the price and no one will fool you like these people. The only normal one there is the girl in the window.

  First time customer. It would be hard to find a more pleasant person than the nice woman that guided me through the recycling process. She was pleasant, patient, and helpful throughout. Lawrence overall has a base of friendly people, and SMI personnel were no exception.
