  I was impressed by this shop. Took some heads for them to fix on a Mustang and was very happy with the result and can finally get compression on my engine. The reviews are right, this place does take a long time to finish so expect long wait time. But for me, if it takes a long time and the result is great then I’m fine with it.

  **UPDATE** Took a 1.8 cylinder head in last week and again they did an absolute AMAZING job. Had it back to me the same week! Don’t take chances anywhere els, this is where to take your heads for machining, cleaning and anything els you would need done. Excellent prices as well! Took a 1.4 cylinder head in for resurfacing and pressure testing. The service was FANTASTIC! The quality of work surpassed any machine shop I have used in the past and the pricing is awesome considering what you get back! Also I took this in on a Tuesday ( just walked in ) and they had it done in less than a week!! To say the least I am more than impressed with the service and will definitely be a returning customer. THANK YOU!

  Brought in a Honda 1.5T cylinder head to have it checked for flatness/inspection after a head gasket failure. I specifically asked them to inspect the head first and contact me before machining anything unnecessary. Instead of even looking at the head, I was basically told “take it somewhere else.” This isn’t my first bad experience here either. I understand shops have policies and certain jobs they may not want to deal with, but the communication and professionalism were disappointing. A simple explanation would’ve gone a long way instead of dismissing a paying customer immediately. I drove across town with the head loaded up, wasted time loading/unloading everything, and still had to find another machine shop.

  Two different Subaru dealer service departments recommend "Richards" to me. I honed them, was given a quotation. The next day I delivered the heads (2012 Subaru Outback, 2.5i, CVT) and toured their facility-- it's "old school" which to me is GREAT. Very modest building, friendly and obviously talented machinists, I knew I was paying for craftsmanship, not depreciation and expensive rents. The quoted me 7-10 business days but had them done in five. I picked them up today and they are PERFECT, and they did it for the quoted price. I could not me more satisfied.
