  After having been a good customer of Direct Propane for several years, my regulator needed to be changed on my tank. I called and got rates for labor and parts, which were quite expensive; $140 for the first thirty minutes and $95 for each hour after that, less the parts. I scheduled the repair but decided to call around for better pricing. After finding a propane service that would do the work for $115 per hour, needing no more than one hour, I called Direct Propane back and cancelled the service call. They then informed me that I wanted to continue to purchase propane from them, they would have to charge me for a service call first. I said "you're going to charge me a service call when I'm the one who called and told you about the issue?" If I had the work done by another dealer they would have no idea it was performed and would have continued to sell me propane. Of course my response was that they just lost a valued customer since this was beyond stupid and unethical, definitely crooked and dishonest IMO. Based on the other reviews I see there is a trend here, so I suggest that NO ONE do business with these losers. They will draw you in with competitive propane rates and try to screw you on the backend.

  We were having long time intermittent problems with the propane furnace in our motorhome. Both the motorhome and propane tank manufacturers recommended adding methanol to the tank to absorb any moisture in the tank that could be causing the problem. After calling 8 local propane companies, including the "big-name" suppliers, and not finding anyone who could help us, our RV dealer contacted Direct Propane in Webberville, Tx. We had missed them because they were just outside of our 30 mile search area. Direct knew exactly what we needed and had the supplies and tools to get us up and running. When we arrived, David and Tom met us outside, listened to our long, sad story, explained how the propane system works and confirmed that they thought we were on the right track. They got us fixed up quickly and I couldn't believe how reasonable the cost was. Even though we're far from being locals, we appreciated the way David and Tom treated us. We highly recommend Direct Propane for any sales or service needs.
