  After having been a good customer of Direct Propane for several years, my regulator needed to be changed on my tank. I called and got rates for labor and parts, which were quite expensive; $140 for the first thirty minutes and $95 for each hour after that, less the parts. I scheduled the repair but decided to call around for better pricing. After finding a propane service that would do the work for $115 per hour, needing no more than one hour, I called Direct Propane back and cancelled the service call. They then informed me that I wanted to continue to purchase propane from them, they would have to charge me for a service call first. I said "you're going to charge me a service call when I'm the one who called and told you about the issue?" If I had the work done by another dealer they would have no idea it was performed and would have continued to sell me propane. Of course my response was that they just lost a valued customer since this was beyond stupid and unethical, definitely crooked and dishonest IMO. Based on the other reviews I see there is a trend here, so I suggest that NO ONE do business with these losers. They will draw you in with competitive propane rates and try to screw you on the backend.

  CUSTOMER BEWARE!!! I had to pay twice for the same job (have my bottles re-certified, costing almost $300 each time) because the first time the guy didn’t mark the bottles. Apparently the second guy didn’t mark the bottles either because a few months later and they say the bottles need to be re-certified.. so I got ripped off the first two times or they are just trying to rip me off again.. $600 later and now I will go else where because the manager said there was nothing they could do. Customer beware of charging for things that don’t need to be done or for something they didn’t do..
