Metal fatigue had set in and the door had finally cracked and bent at that location making the door unable to close completely. So I purchased the same door again but this time with the light sensor that makes it so that I never need to manually set the timing again. It will open in the morning and close after dark regardless of the time of year. And better yet, I see that the new door has completely addressed the failure point of my old door and the corner where the motor connects is extra beefy. I am confident that this door will outlast me, my coop, and probably WW3.
