Homeowners beware, under the new ownership and they’re horrible!!!!!!! Jack who owned Highland Farms for decades, sold the farm and apparently took the quality control and customer service with him. I purchased 4 yards of loam and received 186 pounds of stone and 40% sand. It is garbage that destroyed my yard. I’ll be filing a claim for damages and a deceptive business lawsuit against the new owner, Nick, who doesn’t understand what customer service means when you betray or defraud a customer. Highland Farms perpetrated a fraud against me by representing the material as what Jack had presented to me in the past. That statement is false and made to initiate and profit of a sale under false and deceptive pretenses. See for yourself the photos are of the newly laid “loam” and that resembles a sandy beach covered in stones, some boulders in the “screened loam” measured 10”x5”x8”.. That’s what I paid $250 for; their loam under new ownership is beach sand and gravel being sold as Jack’s premium loam! Clearly deceptive and fraudulent business practice, intended for financial gain at the customers expense.

It's okay to break with tradition-- we dropped off our daughter and her baby at Pt Judith--- then we journeyed back to Worcester, MA. We were lamenting the fact that we may not make it this year to Allen Tree Farm in CT, our longstanding go - to Christmas Tree Farm. We spotted the Highlands Farm and made a pitstop... well, in a matter of minutes, fast moving and talking Tom was cutting our tree down a bit and carrying our "perfect" Christmas tree to our car. Thanks Tom--- Merry Christmas!

Won't go back. Few years ago the wife and I decided to stop by on a nice Sunday fall afternoon to buy a few pumpkins and look what they had to offer - even though we've been by the place a million times but never stopped. In general, we found the place to be rather inhospitable as it seemed practically everywhere we looked there was a sign that read don't touch this, don't do that, turn off your cellphone, don't put (something or other) on the counter, etc., etc., etc. On top of that, as we were going to cash out, I was holding a couple of pumpkins I was going to purchase. The staff actually had the freakin' audacity to TELL me NOT to hold one of the pumpkins by the stem as it could break and I might not buy it. What the hell?! I'm clearly not a kid and it wasn't any of her business as I intended to buy the anyway. I simply put them down on the ground where I stood and we left - both amazed and annoyed by the whole experience. Never again.
