- KMkayla millerFeb 25, 20261.0We recently had a very disappointing experience with this company that involved both customer service and management. The gauge on our propane tank is broken and has been inaccurately reading “full,” which gave us no indication we were low. I came home to a freezing house with no propane and immediately called to request an emergency delivery. I was told they could not come out until the following morning. The first reason given was that I had a balance on my account. When I explained that I fully intend on paying before it is due, I was told, “You intended to, but you didn’t.” The tone was dismissive and unprofessional. When I pointed out that the account was not past due, the explanation changed to they don't come out for emergencies for my size tank. The next day, I contacted management hoping for clarity on their emergency policy and resolution. I was then given a third explanation — that because we are set up as “will call,” emergency service is not provided. At this point, three different reasons had been given. Additionally, the broken tank gauge — which is what led to the situation in the first place — remains unresolved. No clear plan was offered to repair or replace it. I asked how I am going to know when to call for a fill without a gauge and was told “Well I guess just wait the same amount of time it took from your last fill.” When I inquired about the process for removing the tank, because at this point we want to switch providers, I was met with, “Are you really going to blame us for this and go with another company?” Consistent communication, accountability, and respectful customer service should be standard when dealing with essential utilities like home heat. Unfortunately, that has not been our experience since dealing with Berwick.
