These guys are the real deal and I don't order from anyone else after raising chickens for almost 15 years. Their chickens are top notch - healthy, sassy, and gorgeous - and the customer support can't be beat. I've ordered chickens from many different places (at least 6 places) and I've learned that the others don't stand up to Chickens For Backyards. I've had a few shipping issues that were not the company's fault (UPS' fault) and they still have offered a full replacement.

I have received a email asking for a review. “How are things going”? Well considering my 10 chicks arrived dead I would say not good. The company didn’t seem to care much either. Steer clear of his hatchery and find other more reputable ones.

Ordered multiple times from here. Chicks have high rate of making it as opposed to other sites where I lose about half the order within days. Its a part of life, I get it, but their chicks seem to last longer and healthier than other sites. They also give you a couple extra ones if you order a group to make sure even if you have a loss or 2 you get the overall amount you wanted. great customer service. they also have A LOT more breeds than any other site I've found. They may have also been the gateway to my chicken obsession now, so idk if I should rate 5 stars for creating an addict....LMAO! over great site.

We have had a great experience with Chickens for Backyards. We received our 1 day old chicks in May. We ordered 3 Welsummer hens and a rooster. We received 4 hens, one roo. All are doing great and are healthy and thriving. We did vaccinate for merecks and am glad we did . We got our first three eggs this week and we are very happy. Our rooster is a sweetheart so far and the girls are super curious and friendly. Great experience. Highly recommend.

Bought chickens and turkeys from them last April. The birds came super healthy, active, and quickly became super friendly, even the turkeys. Two of the pullets (Wyandotte & D'uccle) actually like to come in the house and cuddle. We got one extra animal of each breed we ordered, so we ended up with a breeding pair of blue slate turkeys. The tom likes to entertain people when he sees a new face. I will certainly be ordering from them again this spring.
