Friendly staff. Sold then a Catalytic converter with a J-pipe. Didn’t bother checking for the material in the converter priced for $40.00 with no room for negotiation. Was told after the process ended that I have been ripped off of $200+ dollars. Unsure if that info is correct since I wasn’t able to negotiate. Next time I’d do my own research in advance before going in.
Frequently Asked Questions About Synergy Metals Recycling
What are your business hours?
Our operating hours are as follows: Monday through Friday, we are open from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM. On Saturdays, we operate from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM. We are closed on Sundays.
Do you quote converters over the phone?
No, all quotes are provided in person at our facility. Due to legal requirements, a copy of the title or registration from the vehicle the converter came from must be brought in.
What types of metal can be recycled?
We accept a wide range of recyclable metals. This includes ferrous metals such as steel and iron, as well as non-ferrous metals like aluminum, copper, brass, lead, and stainless steel. We also recycle catalytic converters and automotive batteries, among other items.
How do I know if my metal is ferrous or non-ferrous?
A simple magnet test can help determine the metal type. If the magnet adheres to the metal, it is ferrous and contains iron. If the magnet does not stick, the metal is likely non-ferrous, which typically has a higher recycling value.
Do I need to clean the metal before recycling it?
While not mandatory, clean and separated metals generally command a higher price. We recommend cleaning your metals when possible for optimal value.
Can I recycle appliances and electronics?
Yes, many appliances and electronics contain recyclable metals, which fall into the Light Iron category.
Do I get paid for my scrap metal?
Absolutely. We provide payment based on the weight of your scrap metal and its current market value.
Is there a minimum amount of scrap I can bring?
There is no minimum quantity required for scrap metal recycling at our facility. We accept all amounts.
How are prices for scrap metal determined?
Scrap metal prices are determined by several factors including the type and grade of metal, current market rates, weight, and global supply and demand trends.
Why is recycling scrap metal important?
Recycling scrap metal is crucial for several reasons. It helps conserve natural resources, reduces energy consumption, decreases greenhouse gas emissions, and prevents usable materials from ending up in landfills.
