- NONiko OliverDec 30, 20251.0The company I work for Coastal Conservation and Research bought a John Deere 3038e, Box scraper, Flail mower, and 370B backhoe from RDO Watsonville and it’s been nothing but headaches and problems. First off the salesperson lied and said the 3038e is equivalent to are 45 horsepower Kubota we used to have. It’s definitely not and for its size it’s underpowered and has no torque. The John Deere 2025r has more torque and power! The parts on John Deere are cheap as they come. Are box scraper where you select the height and slide the pin in for the rippers completely broke off every single one! The rippers themselves go dull from barely scrapping an inch. We have had to replace them three times already. The flail mower they sold us ended up being an off brand flail mower all the way from Italy so parts are impossible to get and it doesn’t even work now. The Imatch we bought where you lock the pins at the bottom looks like someone beat it with a sledgehammer. The opening is now almost double the size and when you lock anything it has lots of play and jiggles. They never have anything in stock and takes them forever to get things. You talk to one person and then they magically leave and you get told to talk to someone else and they have know idea what’s even going on. That’s just a few issues we dealt with since purchasing from John Deere. Today 12/30/25 went to pick up are Tractor and when I get back to are yard I go to take it off the trailer it wouldn’t start. Call John Deere service and the manger try’s acting like they didn’t do anything and try’s to make me diagnose the problem myself. We spent over 70 thousand plus dollars at RDO Watsonville. Will be the last time we bring it to there! We now are taking are John Deere tractor to get serviced at C&N tractor. We should have just bought another Kubota. Highly recommend going somewhere else to get parts or service done unless you like wasting time, money, and hearing excuses. 1/6/26 just wanted to give an update to anyone seeing this review. No one from RDO Watsonville contacted us like they said they would in there reply yesterday on 1/5/26. Shows how much they really care about there customers…

I needed my tractor repaired and the service person did not call me back. Could be he never got the message but either way... Also, when I go in the store they are generally very helpful.
