Frequently Asked Questions About MistAmerica Corp.
How does water get to the mist fan?
Every Mist360 kit comes included with a hose that attaches to your water source. This hose brings water to the high-pressure pump. Once the water is pressurized, it travels to the mist fan via high-pressure tubing.
What is the difference between nylon flex tubing and stainless steel tubing?
Nylon flex tubing comes standard with all Mist360 kits. It is flexible and easier to bend around corners. Alternatively, you can upgrade to stainless steel tubing, which is more durable, cleaner looking and lasts longer. Both types of tubing are available in the following colors: Black, White, Brown and Beige.
How much water does each mist fan use?
That depends on the type of fan and type of nozzle attached. This can be calculated by multiplying the water usage of each nozzle, measured in Gallons Per Minute (GPM), and multiplying that number by the number of nozzles on each fan.For example, a Mist360 Cyclone (8 nozzles) equipped with 8 blue-ring nozzles (.016 GPM) would use .128 gallons of water for each minute of use.For reference, an American shower uses approximately 2.1 gallons of water per minute on average.
Will I be able to use this in humid weather?
We have a solution for that. MistAmerica offers four types of nozzles that are all most effective for specific types of weather and climate. For more humid weather, MistAmerica recommends using a set of nozzles that emit less water.
What should I do with my system during the winter?
To properly "Winter-ize" your system, MistAmerica recommends purging all water at the end of the warmer season and removing all nozzles from Mist360 fan. By doing this, you will prevent water from freezing and damaging your equipment.
What is the maintenance required on my system?
Nozzles are periodically cleaned as needed. The filters for your kit should be changed once per season to maximize performance. We also recommend changing the oil in your pump at the beginning of each year.
What are the basic steps to install my Mist360 system?
The first step is to determine the pump assembly location, preferably near a water and power source. The next step is to determine where you are going to hang your Mist360 fan(s). The typical location for this is to replace an existing ceiling fan. The final step is to figure out how to run the high-pressure water line from the pump to the fan(s), making sure you have enough feed line between the pump assembly and fan(s).
Can one pump work with more than one fan?
The size of the pump will determine the total number of fans that it can operate. For example, a .25 GPM pump can run 16 blue nozzles (2 Mist360 Cyclone units) or 24 red nozzles (3 Cyclone units). One high-pressure line runs from the pump and splits off to provide mist to each fan.
How do I clean my nozzles?
Nozzles can be cleaned by soaking them for 3-5 minutes in CLR and then thoroughly rinsing them under warm water to remove any CLR residue.
DO NOT:
Try to manually clean/scrub/de-clog the hole in the nozzle, it is fractions of a millimeter and too small to be effectively cleaned by any other method than the one above.
Are there different types of nozzles?
Yes, MistAmerica carries 4 sets of nozzles that vary in how much water they emit. The industry-standard measurement is Gallons Per Minute (GPM). This is identified by a colored ring near the tip of each nozzle.
Each silver nozzle emits .025 GPM.
Each blue nozzle emits .016 GPM.
Each red nozzle emits .011 GPM.
Each white nozzle emits .006 GPM.
How often do I need to clean my nozzles?
MistAmerica recommends cleaning your nozzles once per season of use. For maximum effectiveness, clean just prior to reattaching nozzles for the new season of use.
Will my patio get wet?
By following MistAmerica's recommendations (fan type, height of fan, type of nozzle) you will drastically reduce the likelihood of your patio getting wet.

What should I do to winterize my MistAmerica misting system?
At the end of the warmer season, purge all water and remove all nozzles from the Mist360 fan to prevent freezing and damage.
What maintenance is required for MistAmerica misting systems?
Clean nozzles as needed, replace filters once per season, and change pump oil annually for optimal performance.
Can one pump support multiple misting fans in MistAmerica's systems?
