I had a very disappointing experience at Best Western in Travelers Rest.
Check-in started off poorly—the front desk associate was Indian woman named Christasha was rude, unwelcoming, and didn’t even greet us. I had to ask if I was in the right place. The biggest issue was being double charged. I had already paid $260 in full back in March, yet on the day of arrival another $238 charge was attempted. When I showed proof, my concerns were dismissed, and I was essentially forced to pay again just to check in.
Once upstairs, the hallway smelled like mildew and sewage. The room was very small and not suitable for a family with children, despite that being noted in my reservation. The stand-up shower made it difficult to bathe my infant. To make matters worse, I saw a roach on the ceiling, and the room overall felt unclean (floors dirty, not properly maintained).
I asked to switch rooms but was told nothing with a tub was available. By the next morning, I was so uncomfortable that I checked out early and moved to Marriott in Greenville, which was a complete 360 in quality and service.
I’ve tried contacting management about a partial refund, but keep being told the manager is unavailable. Very frustrating experience. I would not recommend staying here, especially for families.
