Spent one night here while attending a local college basketball game. Everything and everyone was wonderful! Warm, welcoming hospitality along with clean and comfortable rooms. Breakfast was satisfying and the coffee was great! If I’m ever in the little town of Princeton/Athens, WV again, I’ll be staying there!

5/5 This Hampton Inn in Princeton West Virginia is so accommodating. I made reservations and had to cancel. I made reservations again directly with this Hampton Inn. I’ve been here several times and they are so accommodating and kind. After a long travel either by car or plane, they held my room, even when I came in very late that night. They answer any questions and are available during the early hours of the morning. It has become a family meeting place for me and my family when I come into town.

My recent stay at this property was incredibly disappointing and indicative of the declining quality of all Hampton Inn properties. I stay at a lot of Hampton Inns all across the US and this one was one of the worst. I checked in on the Hampton Inn app a day early to secure a room at the far end of the hotel, near the side entrance so its easy and fast to unload my car. I got to my room and the digital key didn't work and I was prompted to go to the front desk to get a card key. The front desk clerk said the digital key system had been broken for a while. How about telling customers before their stay that the digital key system isn't working, rather than wasting my time?? Its a huge pain to lug my baggage across the hotel to get a room key. Seriously poor customer service. When I got to my room I discovered the security deadbolt would not fully engage. Doesn't appear as if Hampton Inn takes customer safety seriously. This door lock fault should have been caught when the room is made up. Also where are all the garbage cans? I've stayed at Hampton Inns where there were up to 3 trash receptables in the room. This room only had one, so you have to stack your trash around it, which just makes the room look messy. In addition the bathtub of this room (104) had a nasty body fluid colored stain in the bathtub. It looks like someone was murdered then dismembered in the tub. My daughter refused to set foot in the shower it was so gross. Each of my complaints seem minor, but when you add them up, it makes for a sub-par room stay. Sorry but details matter.

Anthony and Anne were great. Anthony had a ton of knowledge about the area that he shared with my wife. All of the staff - front desk and food service - were kind and helpful as we tried to orient ourselves to the locale. This was a way station for us between Michigan and Hilton Head and the experience was good enough we stopped on our return trip. Dog friendly.

Suspicious debris on mattress that looked too similar to bed bug residue to ignore. Exposed wires running the length of the hallways, banged up furniture, walls, doors, trim work, and sickening bathroom deodorizer smell throughout the lobby… we left right away. The property seemed to be doing great business anyways and was very busy. GM Anthony was incredibly likable and refunded no questions asked, so they are redeemed in service quality, at least.
