However, upon checking in we had to cycle through 6 different rooms because half of them didn’t have power or heat. The workers were kind and we got our stay for free. But it was a mess trying to get to the rooms, the fitness center was down for renovations, there was no room service like promised, the beds were extremely hard, and the rooms were run down. I wouldn’t suggest this hotel unless you want it for the location.

Perfectly located for connections to airports (Milwaukee and O'Hare via bus) and the vibe of the theatre district, which is on the hotel doorstep. The stay made particularly memorable by the superbly attentive staff and of particular mention, the Director of Sales (Michael Diertrich) who went out of his way to engage / enquire and ensure everything was just right with my stay - that was appreciated.

Staff was really friendly, but upon arrival, we were told that they didn't have any king rooms (which we had booked online) available due to renovations -- so we took a double Queen. Not a big deal. I hope they renovate the double Queen rooms next, though. The floor our room was on was in desperate need of new carpet. While the room was very clean, it showed signs of previous neglect. Stains all over the wall by the door and some holes in the bathroom wall from things that used to hang there, for example. Shower took about 15 minutes to heat up, and when it finally did, it filled up the tub to about my ankles because it drained slowly. To top it off, the AC / Fan stopped working on the last night of our stay. Overall, you get what you pay for. Nice staff, clean, good location, but very clearly in need of renovations in many rooms.

I didnt mind paying for the city ramp parking, because everything else lined up in pricing. We didnt experience the breakfast or pool area, but those are perks for those who have the time.
