Team did what they could to accommodate me. The room is what the room is. Huge disappointment. There has to be better quality control of the cleaning standards in rooms.

Big mistake to make a last minute decision to stay at this hotel. The front desk staff were kind, however, I felt they charged a higher rate. The room was dirty and the staff who were serving breakfast spent their time in the dining area watching CNN news and expressing their personal experiences.

BE WEARY!!! You walk into the hotel to be welcomed by a smokey disgusting aroma which makes you wonder if it is smoke free, or the workers have a tobacco room in the rear. The first room they put me in smelled like mold, wet dog and smoke. I was switched to another room. Smelled less of smoke, but still has a terrible aroma. I found this bug with long legs and large body crawl into the foam around the AC.... The carpets are so dirty and disgusting throughout the hotel. The elevator smells like wet dog and filth. If there were other options in this area, I would leave. This hotel is an atrocity... they keep making excuses that they're doing their cleaning. But there's no cleaning that could fix what is going on here.It just needs to be demolished and rebuilt or renovated... The TRUTH!

I traveled more 6 hours from Pennsylvania on 7/24 to attend my sister's wedding and to have experienced the level of unprofessionalism and filth is insane! 1. There was black mold in the shower. 2. The bathroom light was blown. *Sean from the front desk did replace it. 3. Broken security door latch. *Sean did tighten a screw 4. Trash behind the furnitures. 5. Cob-webs in the windows. 6. No hot water to shower. 7. I found someone's bracelet behind the bed. 8. The luggage cart was dirty and filled with dog hair. 9. The corners of the elevator were littered with debris and trash. 10. There was a lady guest in the hotel with a dog, that she kept walking into the breakfast area. She would pet the dog and proceed to fix her coffee without washing her hands. So anyone exposed to the coffee machine, or condiments are now exposed to any germs from her or her dog. Just a unpleasant stay all together. Once I mentioned these things to Kelley Sanchez and Dianna Phillips they both displayed condescending attitudes as if it was a common thing to receive guest complaints regarding the property. I spoke with Melissa from guest services who consulted with Dianna and was misinformed that "I refused the opportunity" for my concerns to be corrected. There were false allegations made that I threatened to contact an attorney. There was NEVER an attempt for anything to be corrected besides Sean from the front desk who offered to come up which was shortly after my check in at 8:30pm to change the light bulb in the bathroom, and to tighten a screw on the security door latch. And although he did correct those two concerns him placing a screwdriver on our bed was unacceptable as well. Needless to say I am displeased with this entire experience, and would like this looked into further especially after the false allegations. I do not believe this is Hiltons standard considering I worked for a Hilton property for more than 10 years in the heart of the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. I concluded a guest services complaint on 7/28 via Hilton's corporate division and via email. As of today 8/12 I have heard nothing from anyone at Hilton!

I had a great stay at Homewood Suites by Hilton Yorktown Newport News. The hotel was spotless, and the staff was warm and welcoming. My room was spacious, comfortable, and very clean. Spacious rooms with smart TVs and full kitchens Breakfast was fresh, warm, and offered plenty of options. Check-in and check-out were quick and easy, and there was ample parking. The location is convenient—right near the highway and main road, with plenty of stores and restaurants nearby.
