Make Under Canvas Bryce your next vacation. This is Glamping at its best! twenty minute drive to Bryce National Park and land of the hoodoos! Under Canvas was spectacular in many ways: comfort in our “tent,” complete with shower and toilet, wood floor, wood burning stove for heat, a sitting area with couch, chairs and table. If you have a disability, no problem, there are two wheel accessible tents. The dining was very good and satisfies one’s different diets. Wine and drinks also. Three fire pits make for meeting new friends and hearing about canyon hikes. This place was perfect. The staff were friendly and helpful. They even started our fire for us! Oh! The stars are glorious! You will never see such glorious stars and constellations! This is worth checking out. At 78 years young, we totally enjoyed Under Canvas and highly recommend it!

Disappointing Experience - Despite High Hopes and Great Reviews
Check in: September 27
Paid $550+
We were really excited to stay here on our road trip after seeing all the glowing reviews. Unfortunately, our experience did not live up to expectations.
Despite, the fact it rained the entire night, which meant no stargazing (in a designated dark skies area), no firepit & smores , and trying to keep warm in a tent where the wood-burning fireplace died out after a couple of hours, uncomfortable bed, and at $568 a night, this wasn’t the worst part of our experience “glamping.”
The real issue was our interaction at the café with Kurt W.
• Night 1: We checked in around 9 PM and specifically asked the front desk what time the café closed. We were told 10 PM for the kitchen, we specifically asked about the kitchen time. We arrived at 9:45 PM, after waiting for the rain to somewhat subside, only to be met by Kurt W. who informed us the kitchen was closed. They did eventually agree to make us something.
• The next morning: I went to ask about breakfast at 10:06 AM. Instead of a courteous explanation, Kurt responded with, “We are closed at 10, just like we were closed last night.” When I let him know I didn’t appreciate his tone, that we came at 945pm and he proceeded to argue with me for 10 minutes. He even THREW his DIRTY RAG onto our table to “demonstrate” what attitude would look like. He excused his behavior by saying he’s a paramedic, so his words can come off “curt.” When I mentioned that I’m an attorney (and yes, I understand his words quite clearly) & my partner is a physician , his response was condescending: “Ooh, you’re an attorney,” in a demeaning tone. I’m not sure why he felt it was important to mention his career? Or why he felt the need to continue to argue?
My partner and I are traveling with our dogs & his mother and we are minorities. Kurt W’s behavior made me wonder if there was a layer of bias or outright RACISM involved. Regardless, the way we were spoken to was unacceptable and deeply unprofessional.
This was the final night of an otherwise wonderful one-week road trip, and it left a sour taste. For travelers who love to explore and have stayed at many places, this was one of the most disappointing experiences we’ve had — not because of the weather, not because of the tent, but because of a staff member who made us feel disrespected. I never leave reviews about poor service but this experience was outrageous.
*The workers at the front desk were lovely and we were really excited when we check in.
Under Canvas Bryce Canyon… unfortunately I would not be able to recommend it to anyone.

Had a great stay at Under Canvas Bryce in Sept. The employees were all very nice, helpful and welcoming. The tents are great and you have the ability to see the stars at night. This Under Bryce offered food/drink for purchase and all was delicious. S'mores at night by the fire was so nice. It gets cold at night depending on the temperature; even if you start a fire before bed; it will go out in the middle of the night. Dress warm. They offer hot water bottles for your bed, which helps! I would definitely stay here again. A great way to enjoy the outdoors!

Wow! I've been staying at luxury campgrounds for 10 years and this is, by far, the absolute best place I've stayed. The tents, the scenery, and the employees were unforgettable. I would live here if it were socially acceptable.

Amazing experience! This was our first Under Canvas experience and definitely will not be our last! From the moment we drove up we sensed the specialness of this place. Every single staff member made us feel not only welcomed, but rather like they would bend over backwards to make our stay as perfect as possible! We thoroughly enjoyed our delicious meals, and sitting out under the stars around the campfire afterwards. But the true wonder was gazing at the stars from our “stargazer” tent at night! No words! I am just so grateful that I got to experience this incredible “glamping” experience, and would recommend to anyone!!
