Nice park in the downtown area. You can learn a bit of history about Brigham Young and some of the ideals that became of the foundations for the Mormon work ethics. Nicely maintained.

I initially thought this was a memorial park: a small piece of land set aside to remember a significant historical figure, but which won't necessarily have any perceivable connection to that person. Those kinds of memorials exist all through Denver. This park, however, is part of the larger plot of land Brigham Young owned during his life. In fact, it was cool to find out that some of the stone walls surrounding the park are part of the original stone fencing Brigham Young errected around his property. There's even a little stone stage with side steps for small concerts or oratory events to be held! If you're looking for a historically important piece of land that also provides a quiet place to momentarily get away from the big city feel of Salt Lake City, this is a great spot. Be forewarned, however: the park has strict closing hours and, depending on the time of day, shade might be difficult to come by. But thankfully the park is free.
