Very quick ride from the airport. Right across the street from the Alamo and close to the Riverwalk. Staff are super friendly. This hotel is in need of a serious refurbishment. Hair in the tub but probably hard for the cleaning staff to see as very dim lit bathroom and the tub and surround need to be replaced. No controlled exhaust fan which is why im guessing they throttle back the water temp, allowing for only a moderately warm shower and no condensation. The a/c is responsive but could not control the fan speed so had to listen to it turning on and off all the time. Poor noise insulation as you can hear everything outside the hotel and inside the hallways. Comfortable bed and pillows. Room smelled like it used to be a smoking room they tried to cover up with some sort of deodorizer. Would not stay hear again.

My stay was amazing and exceeded my expectations. The freshly baked cookies during the check in are so delicious (Doubletree chocolate chip with pecan cookie)!! The room 1206 was so comfy and fit the vibe of moody/haunted - so on theme! The room featured a high ceiling, view of the alamo, and beautiful city view during the night. The staff were all so accommodating and friendly too. I found all the appliances were working well and the room was well maintained. Thank you so much to Jessica for her warmth and hospitality during check in! I was unsure of how far the Alamo was, a good restaurant to visit, and Jessica was more than happy to answer! I have continued to reccomend the Emily Morgan hotel to all my peers since getting home and most definitely will be back with loved ones. Thank you bunches, can't express it enough!

I want to start by saying this is such a beautiful hotel with a perfect view of the alamo, and it is a great location. You can walk anywhere downtown from here. Plus, the history of the hotel is so interesting. That being said, me and my boyfriend's stay this weekend was horrific. Not only did we arrive to a dirty, half cleaned room, but our vehicle was STOLEN from the valet parking lot. The location of the hotel is great, but the parking options are sketchy. We thought we were being safe by paying extra for our vehicle to be valeted. San Antonio police were no help in recovering the vehicle, but luckily, my boyfriend had a tracker on the vehicle so we were able to find it & tow it ourselves. We missed all of our prepaid, nonrefundable plans for Saturday because of this incident, and all of our personal items that were inside the vehicle were stolen, including my entire makeup collection amassing to $500. One thing I will say is that Rudy at the front desk was such a sweet person and was one of the only workers that we felt was empathetic to our situation and didn't make us feel like an inconvenience. He was able to explain our situation to a higher up & the hotel was able to reimburse us for our stay, the tow truck, gave us free breakfast, and even offered to let us come back for free. The valet manager also did a good job at keeping us updated on refunds/the situation. Everyone else made us feel like an inconvenience and that our truck getting stolen was an annoying problem for them to have to deal with. In summary, this is a good hotel to stay at if you do not have a vehicle & you don't mind a dirty room. Thank God we had a tracker on our vehicle, but if we didn't.. this would be a whole different story.

DO NOT TRUST VALET Came to San Antonio with a group of buddies of mine using points. Upon arrival, there is hardly any good options to park your car aside from using valet. So we had to swallow the cost since the savings between using valet and parking outside is roughly 10 bucks. Once we gave the car to valet, check-in was simple and efficient. Veronica was very easygoing and effective with professional yet warming manners. Definitely felt welcome. Once we got our hotel keys, we went to the room and found that it was not entirely clean (half made beds, dirty socks on the floor, non-wiped sink). We requested a new room and Veronica at the front desk helped out immensely. The bathrooms are transparent. Be careful if you are with a group of friends and don't want to see cheeks or pythons. The bathroom doors were a farmhouse-style sliding two-door set that closed towards the middle. Unfortunately, the doors (when closed) still had a gap in the middle, allowing those in the room to see into the bathroom when someone is showering. I didn't see the anaconda at the San Antonio Zoo, but nearly did at the Emily Morgan Hotel. Now to the valet... the one time we used them at night, it took well over 35 min to get our car. During checkout, they were slammed with requests and had a significant delay, which was understandable. The real problem came when we saw a young couple visibly shaken after learning that their truck was stolen... from the valet parking lot. This understandably got all 10 people in the valet queue distraught including our group. Police got involved and confirmed that it was indeed stolen from the valet parking lot, keys included. Nevertheless, please reconsider selecting this hotel if you need peace of mind about your vehicle. If you do not, then the hotel truly is an attractive place to be in both the lobby and in the rooms. Its location makes very easy to walk around the downtown area if you dont have a car. They even give you cookies and water upon check in.

First, it was an amazing experience overall. Directly next to one of San Antonio biggest features, the Alamo, and right around the corner from San Antonio Zoo, it couldn't have had a better view from our room. That being said there were a couple minor things that did not ruin the overall experience BUT do need to be taken into consideration for your stay. These are by no means any reflection of the staff, they were top tier. These were more from the eyes of a parent. For my wife and I, the breakfast buffet was NOT included with a stay. Very good spread and variety overall. Food was a bit dry but the standard among breakfast buffet style breakfast. Two adults was $50. I cannot say what any kids prices were but if you are at $25 per adult, breakfast will probably run around 70 easily. For this reason, the value of the breakfast priced at $50 and not included with the stay, I took off half a star. Just my opinion here but it felt a bit steep. Especially since some hotels with free breakfast will beat this paid breakfast. Room was wonderful and aside from some minor cosmetic stuff, and I do mean minor ie a scratch on the bathroom mirror from maybe humidity and the slick bathtub, was amazing. Sheets, towels and pillows looked, smelled and felt clean and fresh. This one was regularly changing their linens to avoid staleness and it showed. One thing that I noticed and it may be a concern for a business trip or any electronics were the outlets on the bed lamp. They were very loose and unable to provide a charge for my phone. I mention it so you can plug a laptop somewhere else if you need to. Other than that, 5 stars. Front desk was very friendly. We were a late arrival, 930 pm and not much open for food. He recommended the inside restaurant but did mention they closed at 10. I asked about local spots and he said there was a Mexican restaurant that stayed open until 11 if we wanted to grab something after we settled. Provided warm cookies and was asked about allergies and our trip. Definitely a service oriented staff. 5 stars. Location was tough to beat because it's directly next to the Alamo. Typical city experience, with construction happening and horns honking. My only reason for deducting a half star is the parking situation. With no on-site parking, you have to use a QR code and for an overnight stay, it will run about $30. These little extra charges, the parking and the paid breakfast, can make a great value seem like a mediocre value. Overall, 4 stars. I imagine a business trip or a couple trip would enjoy the quiet of the stay. We loved it but might not bring our family here as the extra costs might bring the experience down. Throw in an upgrade package for the zoo or Alamo and it might change that.
