Awful experience here. I stayed with my dog and immediately upon entering the room she found an opened piece of chocolate candy on the carpet that I had to pry from her mouth. I crawled into bed right away and noted that the sheets felt...overly-worn and didn't have that "crisp" and fresh feeling. The next morning I found fake eyelashes in the bed along with a few hairs that weren't mine and what appeared to be a smear of mucus in the bed. Safe to say I had slept in a bed that had already been slept in. I let the front desk know and the man working was nice enough and switched me to a different room but told me that if the new room costed more than my current I would be expected to pay the difference which is crazy to me since I was only moving because I desired a clean bed to sleep in. I called customer service requesting they at least somewhat comp my stay (I stayed I think 3-4 nights) and it was like pulling teeth to get them to do anything, and I ended up receiving $95. Not even equivalent to that nightly rate I paid along with the pet fee. Not to mention I have been a Hilton Honors member for 15 years and travel and stay with them frequently for work (I'm a travel nurse). I understand Spark is a budget hotel which is totally fine, but I think a clean hotel is the bare minimum, and you can't even receive that at this property.

URGENT HYGIENE WARNING: Stay Near Lackland AFB Overshadowed by Pests I booked this hotel (November 11–14) solely for its proximity to Lackland Air Force Base for my son's graduation. It is important to note that the location is, indeed, extremely convenient for attending ceremonies and events at the base, which was the only positive aspect of my stay. However, the major issues I encountered make it impossible to recommend this property. Upon entering the hotel, there was a strong, pervasive moldy smell in the lobby area. While the young man at the front desk was friendly, this initial impression of poor air quality was immediately concerning. The true problem began in the room, which initially appeared clean. Around 3:00 AM, I woke up to find multiple roaches on the nightstand and in the bathroom. Over the next hour, I encountered and killed several more, confirming a severe infestation. I took photographs of the pests as evidence. When I called the front desk at 3 AM to report the issue, the staff member offered to move me, which was a kind gesture, but at that hour, I was exhausted. The most shocking moment came later when I went downstairs. I mentioned the roaches to the woman at the desk, and before I could even show her the pictures, she reached under the counter and pulled out a can of roach spray. This immediately suggested that the hotel staff is fully aware of the recurring pest problem but has not addressed it properly, instead relying on readily available bug spray. For the price paid and under the Hilton brand name, guests expect a clean, pest-free environment. Having to contend with an infestation and the knowledge that the hotel is aware of it is simply unacceptable. Do not stay here for anything other than absolute necessity tied to Lackland AFB. Overall Rating: 2/5 Stars (Poor value, major hygiene failure, unacceptable pest control). I wish it was a way that I can submit these pictures of these roaches

Everything is fine, the location, the establishment is clean, the employees are attentive and friendly, I don't give it 5 stars because the breakfast disappointed me, cold eggs and only cereal and milk.

I stayed at Spark by Hilton San Antonio Near SeaWorld, and it was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. The room was not clean, there were roaches, and we even got insect bites on our feet. Clearly, hygiene is not a priority here. We paid $150 per night, which is way overpriced for the poor service and dirty conditions. The elevator wasn’t working, and we had to carry our luggage up to the third floor with no warning. This place is nothing like what you’d expect from a Hilton property. Management needs to fix these serious issues. I would never stay here again and don’t recommend it to anyone.
