⭐ 1 Star – Absolutely Horrible Experience, Disrespectful Treatment of Military Families
Our experience at the Hampton Inn & Suites San Antonio–Downtown/Market Square was absolutely terrible and heartbreaking. We were in town as two military personnel with our family to attend our daughter’s/cadet’s graduation — a moment that was supposed to be joyful and memorable. Instead, it was completely ruined by the hotel manager, Cindy Albano.
She treated us horribly from the beginning — extremely rude, impatient, and unprofessional. Without valid reason, she canceled 3 out of our 4 rooms, leaving our family scrambling with nowhere to stay. Her attitude was disrespectful and aggressive. She was slamming doors, refusing to be kind or helpful, and escalating the situation instead of resolving it.
It went as far as her calling the police on us, even though we have video footage showing how we were treated, and we had to file a complaint with the police agency ourselves because of how serious and inappropriate the situation became.
To make matters worse, we were double charged for the rooms, and instead of spending time celebrating with our family and honoring our service member, we were forced to urgently find other accommodations. Thankfully, booking an Airbnb last minute was the best decision we made, and we were finally able to be at peace after this nightmare.
This was not just bad customer service — it was disrespectful, humiliating, and completely unacceptable, especially toward military families here to support their child’s service to this country.
I am extremely disappointed, and because of this experience, I will never book with Hilton again. I strongly warn others to think twice before staying at this location, especially if you expect basic respect and professionalism.

The manager, Cindy Albano, was unbelievably rude. My family and I were trying to check in and she had an absolutely horrible attitude. She huffing and puffing, walked off and slammed the door behind us, paced up and down the hallway then said she was calling the police. There was an officer sitting outside so I asked him if he could diffuse the situation. He tried but she was incorregible. We left and found other accommodations. Hampton Inn, you need to do a better job at vetting your employees. Even the cop was baffled at her behavior.

1. No Parking available, and subsequently paying for the parking which was not mentioned when booking.
2. Central A/C kept injecting air freshner with no ventilation, making it difficult to breath.
3. Had to wait 45 minutes for breakfast, finally left as options were less.
Overall, terrible experience.
Rooms were large and good, staff were helpful although they couldn't do much to help out in any of the situations mentioned above.
