We tend to shy away from hotels as we prefer more peace and quiet. Our last hotel stay was a disaster with door slamming later in the evening leaving us unrested the next day. What a breath of fresh air this Hilton Garden Inn was! Friendly staff, nice large, comfortable room, and oh yes, very quiet. The breakfast was even much better than usual. We will stay here again on our next visit to Midland.

Food is awful and somebody really needs to get a manager who's aware of how to be a manager of a hotel because it was a disaster. The service was just as bad. The staff was very rude and lazy. I wouldn't even use one of the words they offer to describe the place. Why is this even allowed to be open. The health code violations I saw in the hour I was eating is crazy. Hilton should be embarrassed to put their name to this service and staff. If the manager can't manage the hotel properly it's doomed. I give it a year before they sell out to a better company. Can anyone say Marriot now that's a name you associate with quality and luxury not this decorated motel 6 we got instead. Not to mention the rooms were so dirty the TV didn't work at all, wouldn't even come on. I had a hair in my food from the breakfast 🤮🤮🤮🤢🤢 and oh how can I forget the fact I didn't have ANY HOT WATER THE ENTIRE TWO WEEKS. I HOPE NOBODY IN A WHEELCHAIR IS GIVEN A SECOND FLOOR ROOM BECAUSE THE ELEVATORS NEVER WORK and the lady up front Ashley was extremely rude to me and my handicapped partner. I will be contacting corporate over the remarks she inappropriately made about my partners physical difference than herself. Totally unacceptable. Next time at least be sure we can't still hear you! We will never stay here again and are filing a formal complaint of discrimination against this place due to the remarks that Ashley had the nerve to say about my partner shame on you making someone feel worse about something they can't control. It's obvious the staff was raised in the area!

All the staff was so unpleasant and rude. The room was dirty and the food was not worth the money it costs. I would rather have just stayed in one with a free decent breakfast. The fruit was old. I thought the Hilton name was supposed to represent a certain standard of quality?

Hiltons can range in quality, we all know that. There is a minimum level we expect when staying at an establishment branding the Hilton name. Even the janky spots are expected to be clean and have decent beds. Midland is known for its overpriced, understaffed, and ran down hotels. As a lifetime diamond member, I have seen my fair share of sub par locations. This particular hotel might just take the first prize in “Hilton’s worst experience” competition. To begin, the employees are nice and helpful, this isn’t their fault. It is clearly a lack of oversight from Hilton upper management, and the local owners. $40 newspaper stuffed mattresses, showers that have been leaking for so long the tile is literally buckled and missing, TVs smaller than most people’s travel laptop monitors. These are all things you’ll find at this particular location. I am a stickler for things touching hotel floors at any location. However, at this particular location I’ll likely have to burn the garments that accidentally fell to the ground. Not because housekeeping doesn’t clean, let’s be clear about that. It’s because management has allowed years and years of abuse to be thrown at the carpets without attention. The uneven, groaning floor every time you take a step makes you believe you’re in a 100+ year old building. The cheap furniture disguised as quality bends and creaks every time you adjust sleeping positions (which is constant because the newspaper filled spring mattress makes it impossible to get rest). Thermostats light up, but don’t work. Bypassing to thermostats on the units themselves come with varying degrees of efficiency including just constant heat. If you love sleeping hot, on a cheap mattress that’s seen more action than Trumps twitter account, you’re in luck! Long story short, save your money and stay at the Marriott. Hell stay in your truck in the SAMS parking lot. The Hilton brand in midland is dead.
