- CDC Daquin1 day ago4.0Usually stay in the other Hilton when in McAllen but it was booked so tried Home2Suites. What the hotel may lack, it makes up for in service (the staff) who were exceptional. We checked in & I asked if we could have a room on a higher floor because I could smell a bit of damp as we went into the lobby. They said they were booked up so we went to the ground floor room which honestly wasn't good. The smell was very strong. I went back & explained & they went out of their way to accommodate us. We got another room on the 4th floor that was way better it didn't smell at all. Ground floors suffer that in sub-tropical locations. The rooms were clean. They're a bit odd as they run 'long' and narrow, with everything rowed up on one side. BUT they're a decent size & ideal for longer stays (we were not staying long but I can see how well it works for those who do). The bed was comfortable but I HATED the nylon sheets & think any decent hotel should have a more cotton-blend sheet. The bathroom was good as were all the amenities, aside missing lotion top-up. The air/heat worked well, it was quiet and safe feeling. Definitely recommend. Breakfast was GREAT loads of selections & fresh - a real credit to the hotel as were the staff. Not a single rude or dismissive member, they were all fantastic & very obliging and kind as well as greeting you every time you came in. Excellent staff, they make this hotel - a special shout-out to Flor who in particular was exceptionally helpful in relocating us & ensuring we were taken care of during our stay. Such an asset & a bright smile every time we saw her. I would definitely recommend Home2Suites by Hilton in McAllen for business travelers, military, anyone wishing to have kitchen facilities or having a longer stay. GREAT location too. Pluses are: The staff. The breakfast. The cleanliness. The safety & location.

- BBB BNov 18, 20254.0The hotel is exceptionally clean. Service is great. Hotel was sold out but didn’t feel busy or crowded at happy hour or breakfast. Only 2 queen accessible rooms were available at booking. They aren’t my favourite room. The bed and pillows were ok but I dislike the synthetic fabric sheets. Stayed on the 2nd floor across from the noisy ice maker and didn’t hear any outside noise once in the room. This hotel does not have a hot tub. The Hilton app pictures are misguiding as it says pool and hot tub. The pool is a nice size and heated so it made up for the missing hot tub.
