Thankyou to front desk lady for letting us do an early check in after our vehicle broke down on my bday vacation. Also rooms were nice especially for an older hotel. We needed to leave our belongings downstairs after check out while we waited on the car to be ready and john was very nice and accommodating. Also housekeeping found some of our belongings in closet and we got a call to inform us of them as well. Very appreciative of everything these kind and understanding people did for us while we were there.

Great deal, beautiful third-floor view of the Hill Country. Location is excellent: two blocks to downtown shopping district. The Dollar Store across the street carries all your sundries (yes, even wine and beer). The little store behind the check in counter also had a decent assortment of sundries, quick bites, and red wine (no white).
Housekeeping made up our room after only one day! Hooray!
Breakfast buffet is outstanding compared to other places I've stayed post-covid, and it changed over the two days of our stay! Two flavors of waffle batter, scones, eggs, sausage patties, biscuits & gravy, oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, fruit, and a nice assortment of toppings day 1, then country potatoes, tiny omelettes and link sausage day 2.
I wish I'd brought an HDMI cable. The cable TV had neither Prime/Netflix login nor device casting capability, so the commercials were interminable. I was content with my iPad, but my mother in law forgot to bring a book. The bright side of that was that we talked a lot. 😊
The pool was beautiful, the hot tub was hot. I didn't use it, though. While it was beautifully landscaped, and my feet were aching, the thought of a lone middle-aged woman hot tubbing ten feet from Hwy 290 seemed to me to not be a safe idea.
Hilton wasn't thinking too hard when they outfitted the gym. Unless you're shuttling to wine tours, the last thing you need is two treadmills, since you'll be strollling a minimum of 1 1/2 miles. There is an assortment of awkward heavy balls, I would have preferred free weights or kettlebells.
Parking was plentiful and convenient mid week.
The locals tell us Fredericksburg is two different towns depending on whether you're here for the weekend or mid week. For us, Tuesday-Thursday parking was easy downtown, too.

We scored a last minute reservation at this property. Check in was smooth and easy. Lobby was nice and clean. Room was spacious and clean. Bed was very comfortable. Nice large parking lot. The fitness room was a bit disappointing. Breakfast was the typical Hampton Inn offerings. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Great location.

Overall, pretty disappointed with the quality of our room and the property in general. The price we paid for the room given the quality or lack there of… is just too much!! Our room smelled like smoke and body odor and we had to air the room out to be tolerable. We did like the balcony overlooking the pool, breakfast service, and cookies in the evening.
