We live about 30 minutes from this hotel and came to Fort Worth for a one-night stay-cation. My wife chose this hotel because she had stayed here several years ago with her friends and really liked it.
Joel at the front desk (at our check-in and check-out) and the downstairs bartender in the evening of our arrival (didn't get her name) were excellent, and by far the best parts of our visit. They were friendly, fun, and professional. The drinks were reasonably priced. The free breakfast buffet was a nice perk.
We were initially placed in an "accessible" room. When we saw it, we came back to the desk and asked to be moved. Joel apologized and said that all reservations that come from whomever my wife reserved through (Expedia?) appear to be requests for accessible rooms. So why not tell this to guests who booked from there and apparently don't need it whether an accessible room is OK?
Now for the rooms and facility: Generally dated, worn out and questionably maintained. And not comfortable for sleeping.
We were moved from the accessible King suite at our request, and given a suite with two queen beds. Not what we wanted, but decided to go with it. Then we noticed that the mattresses were smaller than the queen-sized stands they were resting on - I'd bet they were "full" size and not queen. The mattresses were not very comfortable, and the pillows were some of the worst we've ever encountered: There were three half-sized pillows on each bed. One filled with single too hard and too springy foam cushion, one that felt like it was full of rolled-up t-shirts, and the other like it was full of something like cotton balls, only bigger and lumpier. The carpet in one part of the room was sticky. The thermostats do nothing. One of the lamps didn't work. The decor is so old and dated - it's terrible.
My wife's opinion now - and mine - is to stay away. There are MANY much better and comparably priced hotels within walking distance of this place. We will not be back.

JULIUS answered on the first ring! True service. After just 5 min. He addressed concerns, invited us to complimentary happy hour and breakfast and reserved the room. Great deal, that was well done.

The rooms were very spacious. The hotel is conveniently located close to Sundance square. All of downtown felt extremely safe & family oriented. A major plus to have the free breakfast. I thought it was a little strange that they don’t have comforters on the beds. We called to see if they could provide more & all they had were sheets a small fleece blanket. Other than that we had a great stay.
