Sad to say but this hotel has gone down the road that many hotels have gone. That road is “down hill”. Arrived excited with my wife because this was once our favorite place to stay but we were quickly disappointed from the moment we drove up. I can sum it up in one word. NEGLECT. Badly faded hotel sign was the warning sign we should have paid attention to. Next Came the front desk lady that wanted to argue my Honors status. “No you’re regular!” After I proved her wrong by showing her my app she reluctantly gave me my waters a treat bag, no apology by the way. Made our way to the nasty elevator that had not been cleaned nor was it throughout the duration of our stay. Same nasty stains on floor and walls. Talk about kill the mood. We walked down the brown outdated floor and walked into our old outdated room that had a minimum of 10 yellowish brown water stains on the ceiling from where the roof is leaking. My fridge didn’t work at all! Never even got cool, was just hot! So no cold drinks all weekend. Zero water pressure in the shower. We took showers with a cup we took back from a restaurant. No lie. Floors were disgusting, Moldy carpet, and tile walls in the shower were black with grime. We did not want to even touch the walls! We laid down in the old mattress which you felt the springs coming through. FACT. Stared at the stained ceiling while a spider on the ceiling right above us stared back. So we turned to our left and a silverfish bug on that wall also was curious as to how we two humans could PAY & STAY at such an old neglected filthy hotel. Hilton Garden was our favorite place to stay in Corpus. Now it’s the worst. We endured the 2 nights feeling completely ripped off and while checking out I asked the same argumentative lady if I could at least receive a refund for the breakfasts that I had prepaid for and didn’t use because they had 80 football players that rolled in on 2 buses taking up all the food and space, to which she gladly said NO. Well that’s our story, no refund, not even an apology, just a terrible experience that left us feeling ripped off and un appreciated for our hard earned spent money. Interesting how if my money was bad I’d be forced to make it right. But some how service is allowed to be bad and not be held accountable as it rightly should. Somewhere Mr. Hilton is rolling over in his grave wondering what’s happened to his dream of serving humanity with a smile and giving them an experience that’s worth coming back to.
P.S
I will be copying and pasting this on Google reviews and Yelp reviews. Because no one else should be ripped off and experience what we went through.
