At the crossroads where Town Lake meets downtown, the LINE Austin draws influence from both the surrounding natural beauty and the creative energy that fuels the city. Once home to a jazz club that broadcast live on local radio in the late 1960s, the hotel is part of downtown Austin history and holds a cultural legacy within its walls as unique as the city itself.
The LINE is centrally located downtown among Austin’s most interesting cultural treasures. Every direction offers something to discover: walk north for a museum day at The Blanton and The Contemporary or ride a bike to the eastside for tacos and drinks on a patio. Stay downtown for a live show at the Paramount Theater, travel across the bridge to the South Congress district or rent a canoe and explore the lake – which also happens to be a river.
The hotel is praised for its excellent location near downtown Austin and various attractions.

I could go on and on. Rooms were small and unlike what I saw when booking. Barely any room to unpack and make use of space. Marketing group did a fantastic job of selling a pipe dream. In 4 days never had housekeeping once so we gave up and just asked for our own set of towels. Phone to room didn't work. Engineering never showed up. TV doesn't work times 2 . Aura loss again. Brought my 2 teens thinking it was the best option to do their IG thing but room left them both bummed even after I paid for an upgrade to a larger room. I would have just moved to a whole different hotel but couldn't get anything on such short notice. I haven't been this disappointed in a long time. Great fireplace setting in lobby for what that's worth.

This hotel is nice overall, but has some issues.
Cons:
The entire 6th floor smells terrible (I think because of the restaurant) so would avoid rooms on that floor if you stay here. The stench gave me a headache and woke me up.
There is not ice or water available on that floor either, not sure about other floors.
The chargers didn't work well in the nightstands, nor did the WiFi.
The location is overall ideal, but pulling into the hotel is a nightmare during heavy traffic since you can only pull in one way and it's right by the busiest intersection in downtown austin.
Pros:
Right on Lady Bird trail/Congress Bat Bridge so solid location in that aspect.
Lobby is pretty and welcoming.
The coffee shop in the lobby and veracruz tacos are both awesome spots!
The beds and pillows were super comfortable and the water pressure is fantastic.

I decided to have my wedding at The Line and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. First off, Becky Peter deserves the most praise out of everyone and everything. She made my dream wedding come to life. Every request she listened and made possible. I will never thank her enough. Secondly , the Line’s servers, bartenders, staff, anyone behind the scenes, were absolutely unreal. The best service ever. If you are considering having your wedding at the Line, pls do. It is worth every single penny!!!!!!! And don’t forget it is just absolutely Beautiful!!!!

My stay was excellent but mostly because of the attention of “Bella” specifically, who encouraged me after having a previous unsatisfying experience, to return.
She was on top of every single detail making sure this time was exceptional.
I commend the dedication and joy of her doing her job.
On this occasion the room was clean, well appointed and stock with the right amenities.
I had a great interaction with all employees.
As a side recommendation, I’d say it is time to replace the rugs or carpets on some elevators specially the open window one, it is disgusting.
In all; congrats for the personnel.

We booked here to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary and decided to stay for 5 nights in a King Room.
On arrival we were given our room key (room 1239) and after a long day flying from the U.K., were looking to getting in and resting.
When we opened the door to our room, I genuinely thought I’d gone into a service corridor or storage room or something like that. The room was dark, badly worn and 100% not what we had booked or paid for, i.e. a King Room with the lovely floor to ceiling windows as so prominently advertised on the Line’s website.
We went back to the check in desk and were told they were fully booked to try again in the morning and they’d move us.
Stuck between a rock and a hard place we went to bed.
In the morning we asked again if there was any actual King Rooms available. Again, they were fully booked but “42 rooms come available tomorrow so we’ll move you then”.
Again, not ideal but what could we do?!
Next morning rolls around, back at the desk, “yeah we could move you to the room you booked and paid for but then we’d have to put someone in yours”…………..
Days later when checking out, speaking to JP and the Manager (I think Beth, my apologies if I’m wrong!) they were both shocked we’d not been looked after or given the room we booked.
The Manager waived the amenities fee, which was appreciated but to be frank, was a bit insulting when we’d paid £1500 for the stay and were stuck in a room which I’d say compares to some low end hostels.
The room itself was apparently a disabled accessible one. Either way, not what we’d booked despite Booking.com claiming the hotel was at fault, and The Line claiming Booking was at fault. Clearly someone is lying.
Regardless of who is at fault, which by the way I am in the process of pursuing action against the mis selling and advertising of the room, we should have either been consulted regarding the room change or given an appropriate room.
The manager on check out pointed out that the room “has a King bed”. Apparently this makes it a king room. I pointed out that putting in a king bed in the adjacent parking lot doesn’t make that a king room either.
The room itself didn’t have the lovely floor to ceiling windows as advertised. The window was at 90 degrees to another window so we had to have the curtains closed all the time otherwise someone could see directly in.
The carpet was filthy and full of stains. The TV was on the wall facing the bed but at the opposite end of the room so watching TV in bed was impossible as the remote wouldn’t work from the bed!
All in all, a bad stay at what should’ve been a great anniversary trip for us.
I’m waiting to hear back from The Line management as we clearly didn’t get what we’d booked regardless of who is at fault.
Avoid.
